I wouldn't call it entertaining. The concept of a totally irrelevant killer that has nothing to do with anything in the film is an interesting concept, but I found the film itself rather dull.

Not sure what it is about Final Exam but I love every minute of it. Totally understand those that don't. But I consider it a slasher movie gem.

Kind of have to agree Final Exam is dull but it's still a fun flick.

Might have to try Final Exam again. Watched it (or tried to) a few years back. What a total bore with no gore. I thought watching paint dry would be more exciting. Maybe something I missed ?

Final Exam is a film you have to be in the right mood to watch I guess.
I like it, but it´s FAR from the best of that era. And yeah, it needed a bit more gore and better pacing.

I got the Scorpion DVD, and I doubt I´m gonna upgrade. Maybe later down the line, but there is just so much else released this spring/summer, that has higher priority.

Yeah you know I hated Final Exam first time I rented it. in June of 90, the film was 9 years old at that point and was really looked dated by 1990. its funny also rented slumber party massacre that same summer and it was looking dated by 1990. But anyway. I just didn't like about final exam was the lack of gore and who was this guy?? and they showed his face right away. I then watched off cinemax in June of 1995 at 5 am and kinda picked up on things' I didn't notice that first. like. some of the slick camera work, and the atmosphere, and I decided to draw my on theorys on who the killer was and why he chose them. then I just got into a little more..

Final exam could have worked better if it had cool characters and more nudity and better writer's and a little more creative killings. not sure if the no back story made or broke it.

Love it! Yeah, actually those films looked dated by 1983 as I remember it. I remember renting FINAL EXAM with friends in '84 (after seeing Friday 13th Final Chapter) and that flick was already nostalgia.

what takes amazon so long to send blu rays. ordered final exam on the 30th. still didn't ship it. But I ordered E.T. last week and got it 2 days later regular shipping. I think its better to wait a month to order this stuff..

Amazon generally has poor pricing on Scream Factory titles anyway. I'd recommend BlowItOutaHere. I've been pre-ordering my Scream Factory titles from them since November, and they've been great.

Their 15% off code (orders of $25 or more) ends tonight: MOTHERSDAY14

My Final Exam blu-ray arrived yesterday (the release date) from there, and it was less than $15 shipped. Much cheaper than Amazon.

Got Evilspeak for $10 shipped from Sears with reward points, and it arrived Monday.

I don't use them, but I hear Family Video has decent prices on Scream Factory titles as well.

...or Barnes & Noble online currently has a B2G1 sale, and both Final Exam and Evilspeak are $16.63.

So, plenty of better options than Amazon.

Finally got Evilspeak today. They did a pretty damn good job with it. My only complaint is that it is most definitely not uncut. The gore is all intact, but there are several expository scenes missing that were present in the UK Anchor Bay version (ie an exchange between Coopersmith and Kowalski in the hallway after the dickheads toss his hat out the window, the pig...ummm..'wrangler' scolding Coopersmith for not being careful: "that could have been you!"), and a couple other short snippets.

Nothing important, but still. Data incomplete.

for final exam fans, I always wondering if when Wildman turned out the lights to the gym and seen the killer standing there, he runs after him ?? did he know who it was? did he think it was a joke? That character turned out to be a real wimp, the killer kicked his ass sideway's.. And that big dumb jock didn't stand a chance at all..
