I'm excited about that one too. I wonder if it'll be a decent upgrade from the old VHS edition however. :eek2:

It's Time to Revisit Slaughter High
    Source:ShockTillYouDrop.com, 'JBene' January 22, 2009

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is trotting out the 1986 slasher film Slaughter High on DVD under a new banner: "The Lost Collection: The best movies you totally forgot about." Indeed.

The late Simon Scuddamore (who reportedly committed suicide shortly after the film's release) stars as a bullied young man who falls victim to an awful prank. He schemes to get back at his tormentors when he holds a fake high school reunion for them to attend. Soon, bodies begin to drop in grisly ways. The wicked hot Caroline Munro (Maniac) also stars.

Originally called April Fool's Day (because the reunion was set on April 1st), the film was forced to take Slaughter High because Fred Walton's picture starring Amy Steel beat them to the punch.

Look for Slaughter High on DVD April 14th. We've been informed the cut will indeed be the R-rated version.

looks like i will pass on this since it is the r-rated cut here is an actual link

Wow, R-rated cut? That's stupid. Well, I guess we can start emailing them!

Just what is different between the R rated version and uncut version? How footage is actually lost between the versions?

One thing to remember is that this ran on fearnet last year unrated (and if I'm not mistaken was listed as rated R)....and fearnet is owned by lionsgate.

Based on that and The Burning's DVD release, I'm going to be optimistic about this. I'm just hoping they're going with the rationale that something that had to be cut 20 years ago can be considered R nowadays.

Yeah, they could have pulled a The Burning, or Eyes of a Stranger. As a matter of fact, what was cut out of the original version?

I'm guessing that the beer gag and the fuck n' fry scene is trimmed. :( This is bittersweet news. I will get this on DVD. I'm also a fan of Best Friend's a Vampire.

No need to jump to conclusions. Just because the disc says R doesn't mean it's not the uncut version. The Burning and My Bloody Valentine are both "Rated R" on DVD and both feature the uncut versions anyway. I think we all need to chill until more info is given on Slaughter High. :)

If the uncut one is running on Fearnet, and it's a newly restored transfer, I'd wager that's what will end up on the DVD, despite what the rating may say. So, relax. :)

Wow, Lionsgate is quickly becoming my favorite studio. Does that mean Slaughter High will be in widescreen now too???
