I just don't understand why he's releasing this shit on Blu-Ray. The only improvement would be better compression, but that's it. Upscaling an SD master to 1080p, don't magically add any more details to the image, compared to a DVD. It´s hilarious that most people on Facebook want this on Blu-Ray, just because it's a Blu-Ray. I hope Olive is smart enough to realise that it's just a waste of money, and go for DVD instead. If not, then that disclaimer better be VERY visible on the cover.
Well, the better codec on bluray over the old DVD compression is something that can give a better image.
If it'll look like a soap opera I'm not going anywhere near it. Tape sources don't translate well to HD
Sure, but it's still going to look like a shitty tape transfer, no matter what they do with it It's just a waste of money releasing SD content on a HD format.
I hope none of those titles are Killer Workout (which I'm pretty sure he has the rights too). I really want to see that one in HD.
I believe the three are Killer Workout, Deadly Prey, and Shock Em Dead. I'm not sure why he doesn't just say the titles, he's only announced them about 10 times at this point. They're not surprises anymore.
The Blu-Ray releases for Deadly Prey, Shock 'Em Dead and Killer Workout are currently available at Amazon and Best Buy for $10.99 each. Best Buy also has Cinco De Mayo and Trashology Blu-Rays for $9.99 each and the Blu-Ray for Deadliest Prey for $10.99. Amazon has not yet price matched these titles.
I picked up Shock Em Dead. Hard to beat that price. I already ordered Killer Workout from Deep Discount.
I went with Best Buy because I had $10 in RZ certificates, free shipping, and eBates. But for those who are getting them through Amazon, reminder to use the link at the top of this page.
Thank you. Just ordered Shock Em Dead and Killer Workout. Hopefully they look good despite being tape masters.
Ordered Shock Em Dead. Too cheap to pass up. The blu won't add much in quality, but I didn't have a copy anyway.
Even with the shipping and shitty exchange rate, these still cheaper than ordering from Amazon.ca where they were also reasonably priced. So supported the site by using the link and ordered Killer Workout, Deadly Prey, and Shock 'Em Dead! Already own Deadliest Prey on DVD and don't see the need to upgrade that one.
Anyone get a chance to check out the new blu-rays yet? I got mine yesterday from Best Buy, will hopefully get around to watching at least one of them tonight. Very curious about the transfers. I know they are sourced from tape masters and / or PAL VHS, but curious if the blu-ray format gives them any sort of boost whatsoever.
