I stand corrected. She turned breathtaking in adulthood. I always thought she had the same kind of cuts-through-you look as Samantha Eggar did as an adult in the film Demons. Hm... now that I think on it I wonder if her breaks from film weren't to do print fashion modelling campaigns.

I think Charlie Brown had a thing for her, too.

I remember her from all those old roles when she was a child, but I don't think I ever recognized her in Demons. Either that or I did know at one point but just forgot, which is quite possible these days.

Thanks for the replies on Blood for Dracula guys. I don't mind me a good black comedy so I'll get onto checking that and Flesh for Frankenstein out asap.

Even though the films have no continuity, I'd hope you could hold off on seeing Dracula till you see Frankenstein. If only because Frankenstein was the movie they "intended" to make, and Dracula was kinda thrown together on the fly.

Thanks for the tip. I'll do that. Prior to knowing this, I was thinking of watching Dracula first as people seem to like that one better from what I've been reading. So there you go.

Thrown together on the fly? Not exactly a ringing endorsement. I tend to avoid blind-buying arthouse-y horror movies so this puts me higher on the fence. Everyone losing their shit when this was announced kinda pushed me toward deciding to grab this but something tells me to try before I buy. Anyone streaming this currently?

BTW, has Brad Henderson done commentaries before? It'll be a refreshing departure from the usual suspects (Kat Ellinger, Troy Howarth, Kim Newman) but the speaker needs to be engaging . I've heard Henderson on podcasts and he's got kind of a monotone voice. And no sign of a sense of humor. Maybe I just haven't heard him enough?

I actually prefer Blood for Dracula. It's hilarious.
There is a scene towards the end, that reminded me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, when it comes to dismemberment :D

Oh, but that's definitely part of the charm, and while it was indeed "thrown together", it was thrown together by people who knew what the hell they were doing. DP was Luigi Kuveiller, who also photographed Deep Red and A Lizard in a Woman's Skin. Every shot in Dracula is impeccable.

And Blood for Dracula came first! Hmmmm

Although what makes that scene work for me is
Esmeralda entering the scene, screaming, then impaling herself on the wooden stake

(ETA: That is a MAJOR spoiler for Blood For Dracula above. Absolutely do not click on it if you have not seen the movie)

Took a little longer than expected, but more because I was trying to figure out how to spend as close to $100 as possible to get free shipping. The 504 errors for the first 20 minutes didn't speed things up though.

    I grabbed:

Phobe: The Xenophobic Experiments [DVD] $10
    Things [DVD] $10
    Jack The Ripper [Blu-ray] $12.50
    The Changeling [Standard Blu-ray] $15
    Blood For Dracula [3-Disc 4K UHD + Blu-ray + CD Digipack w/Slipcase] $45
    Turkey Shoot [Blu-ray] $12.50

    Total: $105

A bit high, but worth it for me as I know I'll be buying VS' Frankenstein later this year.

Also picked up The Hot Nights of Linda because Lina Romay.

ETA: Only just looked at the Blood for Dracula specs, and I see that the old commentary (film historian Maurice Yakowar, director Paul Morrissey, and star Udo Kier) is not included. Or at least not listed. Don't throw out those old Criterion discs just yet.

Grabbed the Marauders bundle a couple of hours ago. The website was curiously live early.

That was apparently a good thing, since checkout went fast and it's already sold out. It eclipsed the free shipping threshold, so now I can just add to it... probably with Retribution and a couple other things before the sale ends. I don't feel the need to rush on anything else.

    It shows this:
    • MYSTERY BLU-RAY TITLE [VERY Limited Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray with an unpromotable Slipcover] (debuts Saturday, June 26 at 11:59:59 PM EST and will ONLY be available for the remainder of the sale) $32/Region A
But I guess that won't be "live" until Saturday... whatever it is?

Went for that Marauders Bundle. Had it in my cart.... went to add another title, headed to checkout... Bundle was gone. Even the book separate was sold out.

Very disappointed. Actually pretty upset. That was a good deal considering it brought the prices down a bit for the 3 films...took care of free shipping too. Now I don't even want to buy anything.

That sucks. What time was it baggio?

I got my order in at 10:53 PM CST, which would have been 9:53 PM PST. I figured it would sell it out pretty fast with just 200 bundles available... but I'm not sure just how fast it did sell out. I'm also not even sure just when exactly the website went "live" last night.
