You would think by now they could tell us something more concrete.
Second Sight just posted an update on their Facebook page, however note their current shipping stipulation from ordering direct (probably due to the pandemic or possible rights with their contract [Second Sight themselves may only have UK rights to sell direct]):
"DAWN OF THE DEAD: LIMITED EDITION Blu-ray and 4 UHD pre-orders update!! Released October 26th, pre-order direct from www.secondsightfilms.co.uk (UK shipping only) from Tuesday May 26th at Midday. Will also be available from all other online retailers shortly after."
So definitely Diabolik or places like Amazon.co.uk if they are shipping to North America for those of us not in the UK once the pre-orders are up there.
Wow, more bullshit!
???????! What's Bullshit? Have I missed something?
Unless you're in the UK you can't get this straight off Second Sight's website. UK only. That being said, it will be available elsewhere. Seeing as Amazon UK don't ship to Australia anymore I may have to look at DiabolikDVD if I decide to get this.
I can pre-order a few extra copies if you guys are stuck on this one, no problem. I might ask for payment up front before shipping anything this time though, haha! Amazon UK might be selling it for less than Second Sight are themselves, so not sure where to order from myself yet.
I may take you up on that's offer! That's very kind. Haha, and payment up from is a great idea
That is very nice of you. I may take you up on that offer as well.
Pricing update from Second Sight (direct of course):
DAWN OF THE DEAD: LIMITED EDITIONS pricing!
The final full spec will be announced on our site on Tuesday midday. Each format box will include 3 Blu-ray or 3 UHD discs with each version of the film, a bonus features Blu-ray, the Goblin OST CD plus alternate and bonus The De Wolfe Library Cues across 2 CDs, the novelisation book and 150 page hardback book with new essays and rare stills. The Blu-ray release will be £69.99 and the 4K UHD £79.99
Have they said how many they're making of each limited edition set?
They usually don't, IIRC.
I think I'm gonna wait and see if they do a standard edition after this, which they usually do, when the limited edition goes out of print.
I just want the movie on UHD, and don't give a crap about the extra content, like the book and the soundtrack.
I mean, we're talking almost $100 plus shipping here.
Wish we had the choice of a standard and limited edition from day 1.
Ah OK, thanks. Probably best just to pre-order direct on Tuesday then to be safe.
I paid more than double for the Jap laserdisc "perfect collection" set back in the mid 90's and it only had the Argento + Directors cut versions, so this seems quite reasonable in comparison.
Will get an extra one for my mate who ordered the Jap LD set with me back then, so I'll be ordering 2 x BD sets. If any of you guys outside the UK want me to pre-order you either version from Second Sight on Tuesday just drop me a PM by Monday night. Of course assuming they don't have some kind of limit on how many you can pre-order.
This says that the Limited Edition content are the audio discs and the books, so I guess that means we WILL get a standard edition.
Now, I'd be lying if I said that the soundtrack CDs weren't of interest, but the books are definitely not. I'm willing to wait for the eventual standard 4K-only release...maybe I'll have a 4K TV and player by then, LOL.
Does Second Sight offer reduced postage for big orders? I'm curious what shipping will set me back. Could be the deal breaker in purchasing this just yet.
They're not shipping outside of the UK unfortunately.
That was for Siniser as he mentioned he could try and grab some of us sets
Ah, my apologies.
