Lol yeah David Copperfield is pretty intolerable in the film. Apparently back in the day, he used to frequent video stores, rent copies of Terror Train and then never return them because he was so embarrassed by the movie (or was it because of his performance?) and wanted nobody to see it. Not sure how true that story is but I always thought it was funny. ~Matt
That's awesome. I don't blame him. It really does grind the film to an inexplicable halt right in the middle of the action.

Comparisons are up for the Scorpion & Shout Factory Blu-rays of Terror Train: https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=13330&d2=13328&c=5224 Scorpion really did botch the Subtitles on this one, I will say that. They still haven't seemed to grasp the value of quality control for their releases.
Wow that SF edition of Terror Train really is oversharpened to hell. The Scorpion looks so much more natural and filmic. ~Matt
They also botched the Opera subtitles using dubtitles when they expressly said it would be a translation of the Italian track.
Exactly, and they didn't learn from that either. I like Scorpion releases for the most part, but they need to start learning from their past mistakes and institute some better quality control measures. Unfortunately they just seem to have a habit of repeating the same mistakes.
Yeah I'm still kinda bummed about that audio glitch on Humongous. It's not a huge deal but it does mar an otherwise fine release. The dubtitle thing on Opera doesn't bother me since subtitles are more like an optional luxury even though I do appreciate them whenever they're included but these flaws are always a black mark. When you're paying $30-40 for single movies they shouldn't be flawed in any way.
Now I'm trying figure this out. Which looks better? Shout has more grain , but it's sharper. Scorpion looks sorta blurry, but less grain.
We offered a replacement program for Tower of evil and we're about to do one soon for teller train as well We are, it just means that we won't be using certain people I'm not sure why you're not bringing up the fact that I did a replacement program for Tower of evil when a mistake was caught. We are working on a replacement program for Terror train currently and we'll make the announcement once the replacement disc is ready so I do learn from my mistakes and also will not use companies and places that make those mistakes again
Yes, but curiously you never seem to want to comment on Humongous, which IMO was your biggest mistake and really should have had a replacement program unlike any other flawed disc.
I think a lot of what you're seeing in the Shout! transfer is sharpening artifacts and contrast-boosting, not true grain.
