Call me a sentimentalist and old fogie, but from time to time I can't help but think of the old message boards long since RIP that I used to frequent and love just as much as horrordvds.com. It's really amazing that this site has lasted as long as it has and I can't believe I've been here for 9 years already. Thanks Dave!

But who else remembers these sites?

    The Infested Casket
    Crazy Mazey's House of Horror
Horrorspeak (technically still around but really a pale shadow of it's former self)

Can't say I've ever been there. Still go to bloody disgusting from time to time, but it's difficult because they shove their ads right down your throat. This site has been great.

Heh, man oh man, I totally forgot about Crazy Mazey. Saw some great obscure horror there back in the day. I think that's where I first got DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT. Thanks for bringing that up!

How about that other early horror site, what was it...DVD Nightmare? Something like that. I remember Dave had some sort of cyber feud going on with them or something like that. Got a slap on the wrist for mentioning them, even, in one of my first posts on the site.

I don't recall visiting or posting much at all at other horror message boards. There was a time when I was hanging out at Jason25's site which had a nice little community.
Fun didn't last long though, don't even remember what the fuss was about but some members split and I stopped going there after some time.

The only other message board I frequented was briandepalma.net about 10 years ago. God, I can't believe it's been that long. I pretty much lived there all through college and when I told a friend of mine who liked De Palma about the site her reaction was, "What is it? Just a bunch of idiots posting messages that say, 'Yeah, man! Brian De Palma fucking ROCKS!'" Ha ha. It wasn't like that at all. Some of the forum members were so incredibly insightful that visiting the site was often like being in a film class.

So hey, I guess that's saying a lot about horrordigital too because since briandepalma.net shut down, this is the only forum I check in on every day. You guys are not just a bunch of idiots posting messages that say, "Yeah, man! ________ fucking ROCKS!"

This is my first (and only) message board in regards to frequent posts and visiting.

I used to love Horrorspeak, and was into the first run of Horrormovies.com forums back in the day (early 2000's).

This is the only horror message board I've ever been active on. I'm all over velospace (cycling board) and expressobeans (print collectors board) but not much else anymore.
All of the cool old art related boards from the late 90s are gone.
I think my first real message board activity was back in '96. It was, quite embarrassingly, a straight edge message board. We used to argue about the silliest shit on there. They closed up shop before 2000 if I remember correctly.

    Ahhhh memories :)

I never really frequented the forums all that much, but I miss the reviews at Monsters at Play. The page is still up, but they haven't updated in close to 4 years. Shame.

this is by far the most active i've ever been on a message board. the website i remember with the most fondness is the original creaturecorner.com, which later became dreadcentral, then briefly the horror channel or something like that (anybody remember that meltdown? fun times), and then back to dreadcentral. they've changed management a bit, and while its still an ok site, i used to really like the old one. i tried joining their message boards, but found them actually a little inhospitable. there are a couple of longtime posters/reviewers there that tend to tread a little heavily. nothing like the warm embrace i feel every time i walk through these doors :D

I posted a few times when Fangoria had their message board. What a fucking joke that was. I got kicked off because I expressed my opinion about a particular director and someone disagreed with me and reported my post.

Anyway, I've been coming to this site since about 1998 or 1999 but never joined until 2008. This board is the only one worth belonging to, IMO.

I've been using this site since about 2000 and never really used any other horror sites, so yeah, there you go.

Yes!!! Their review of the 70's porn atrocity "Bat Pussy" was a frequent visit for me. That review had me laughing to the point of tears.

Damn, I'm still hurt by the loss of Crazy Mazeys, I think it was the first forum I entered when I installed Internet (broadband). It was sad when all of the sudden it disappeared. No other tracker has ever been so cool as that one.

I have fond memories of the British Splatterhouse site. Great until arguments ended up ripping the place apart and the owner closed it down.
