    Trailer is online here.

Darren Lynn Bousman's next film, a sci-fi/slasher epic musical.

Starring Anthony Head (aka Buffy's Giles), Bill Moseley, Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman, and Paris Hilton.

    from Wikipedia:

    Looks completely insane.

Have you any idea how good the reviews of this will have to be in order to get me to pay to watch it?

Yeah, nobody can really call it derivative, that's for sure. I'll check it out, even if the simple sight of Bill Moseley pisses me off.

If it weren't for Paris Hilton and this being a musical, I would see it without hesitation. As it is, I'll wait for some reviews.

Ok, I felt awkward watching this. When I read the synopsis, I can't help but think of how original and cool a movie would be with that plot yet WITHOUT the music. Since it's going to be like this whether I want it to be or not, I might still check it out. Eventually.

She was a UK musical superstar before her solo opera/musical/pop career took off, so she has some experience with acting on stage. And she was Andrew Lloyd Webber's wife for a little while, too. I think at some point she was the richest woman in England, or something close to it. I think she's absolutely mad and I adore her. I can't believe she was convinced to be a part of this film, but her very presence makes it very interesting for me! :D

I saw it at After Dark. Very well put together. Looks beautiful.

Paris wasn't annoying (keep in mind, I was fine with her in House of Wax).

EVERYTHING was sung which was annoying.

Story could have been easily condensed.

In the end, it is worth at least one view. If you like new school, goth like imagery and can deal with it being a musical full and through, then this would definitely be a repeat viewing venture, so skip the rental and just buy it.

I saw it at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. it wasn't a perfect 10/10, but it was damn close. The only negative i can think of was that, in an effort to make it more "opera-y" they had to sing some bits of dialougue that just didnt sound right when sung. It made for a few akward moments. Other than that, it was fantastic. Some REALLY great songs (im gonna buy the soundtrack when i can) and some amazing performances. and the best news of all - Paris Hilton doesn't ruin it! i mean she plays a narcisistic media whore - she was born for the role!

The director was at the screening I went to. It sounds like it is a tough go to get it out to theaters. I think he also said it is distributed by Lion's Gate which can't help, either. So it may not come to your town. The director is under the impression that it would help if they sold a lot of the soundtrack, though. So that could be another way to support the film.

Apparently it is coming out wide in February - not sure what all the delay is, but given the way MEAT TRAIN was moved about by the Gate, I fear the same fate with this. Horror musicals aren't really my cup of tea, but I'll give this a shot.

This title will be hitting DVD in the US from Lionsgate late Jan 09. They are hoping Saw V traffic in the stores will bring more attention to this for rental or sale.

I really want to check it out. Supposed to have great visuals and a blu-ray is being released, too.
