An all new "Ultimate Hunter" edition of Predator is coming to Blu-Ray June 29th! Digitalbits.com has the report.:

    http://www.digitalbits.com/#mytwocents

"And Fox has announced a Predator: Ultimate Hunter Edition Blu-ray for release on 6/29 (SRP $29.99). No details yet on extras are available, but presumably the disc will include all of the previous DVD's special features that the original Blu-ray release of the film lacked. This is obviously timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Robert Rodriguez's Predators sequel on 7/9."

I heard the current Blu Ray of Predator looks rather unimpressive. Hopefully that will be changed with this new one. If so, I'd definitely snatch it up.

Awesome! I'm glad now that I never bought the barebones Blu-ray.

It's up for pre-order on Amazon, so of course I just placed my order.

WOW! They should credit anyone who bought the bare bones Blu Ray. What nerve to even put out that copy, when it wasn't an upgrade from the DVD! And now this new edition. I would hope that it is mastered correctly and worth buying this time!

I got the barebones one for peanuts so it won't hurt double dipping on the new SE. I really hope they will improve on the transfer though.

I've been wanting Predator on Blu-ray ever since I got my player. Glad I waited. This sounds promising!

    Since it's a Fox Blu-ray, there about a 99% chance that it'll be region A locked.

I agree, its terrible to re-release so early, but it's really the fault of the people that bought it. It was destined to be re-released as it was missing all the extras from the Special Edition DVD. Anyone that buys a barebones Blu Ray when their is a Special Edition DVD out only has themselves to blame when it gets a re-release.

I watched the Blu from the library and thought most of it was an improvment over the R2 SE dvd. Some scenes in that are just fucked to begin with and look nasty on both, but some things really popped and looked awesome on the BD I thought. I had a feeling this upgrade would happen so I keep passing the BD, it's on sale for $10 or less every week somewhere it seems.

Hopefully they'll upgrade Predator 2, I haven't bought that on Blu despite it being in my top 10 favorite flicks ever, due to reviews all saying it's a dnr'd mess and not worth it. Library doesn't have it to try for free though, so if it gets under $10 I'll probably bite on that since it has most if not all of the extras. Best Buy had it for $13 a couple weeks ago, but I put it back.

Digitalbits has posted the coolest cover art and specs!:

    http://www.digitalbits.com/#mytwocents

"As you can see, we also posted cover art for Fox's new Predator: Ultimate Hunter Edition Blu-ray due on 6/29. This will be a 2-disc set (SRP $29.99) containing over 5 hours of special features, including an in-depth documentary, director's commentary, never-before-seen bonus footage, behind-the-scenes featurettes and more. You'll also get Movie Money good toward the price of a ticket to the new Predators sequel in theatres on 7/9."

I hope the trailer is included as well (that was on the first Blu-Ray which I'm sure will be added to the new edition.)

I kinda wish this was all the Pred films bundled into a set, or, atleast 1 and 2. I dunno if the features make me want to bite, maybe when it drops in price...

The transfer on the special edition DVD was 10 shades of horrible IMO. I thought that the blu ray, while not being the best I've seen, it was absolutely about 30 steps up from the old DVD.

That said, I've only had a blu ray player for about 6 months, so i refuse to start double dipping already......

I was one who shelled out cash (about $10) for the orignal Blu release of Predator. I will double dip and buy this Ultimate edition. It sounds sweet. Since I got the first so cheap, I'll give it away as an X-mas gift since I haven't opened it yet.

I'll get this one. Didn't buy the bare bones, but I do have the CE DVD. Not sure that I've ever watched that version.

Hearing bad news about the new transfer. Someone has reviewed the German release of this new addition and the new transfer means that Fox have DNR'd the film to get rid of the grain rather than actually do a decent master. Carl Weathers is supposed to look like a wax figure.

Really hope this isn't the case as I was looking forward to this.

Blu-Ray transfers differ in every country. Look at City Of The Living Dead.
