The last of the Sideshow Collectibles Comic Con at Home horror related releases was this figure. Another cute release. They should make Cassie Hack from the Hack Slash comic. I've only read an issue or two but want to get into it.
Not truly horror but this is a really good Tusken Raider statue from Kotobukiya. Check out the base. I don't remember beating this guy in the arcade. Same deal with the base. He's smaller scale too so not the $500+ deal like the quarter scale statues. I need to look into these Mortal Kombat statues that they are making. I swear Pop Culture Shock just made a Myers statue. But it looks like they are making another one.
Apparently my memory is bad. That Mortal Kombat character is from another game. The one I couldn't beat is another four arm character named Kintaro in Mortal Kombat 2. But this is the start of Iron Studios 1/10 Mortal Kombat statues. A good number of which are kind of horror type characters. We'll see what else they make. Although things are pretty messed up these days. I just read a story over on the Statueforum that DC is closing their DC Direct toy, figure, and statue division. Which is crazy to me. I know there are a lot of figure and statue companies. But you would think that the company who owns the characters would want to continue that portion of their business. I would bet that it is an 100% financial decision. Not something that a person with the slightest bit of creativity at DC would make.
Dark Sorceress pre-order this week. This is a good Halloween statue. I love the base. The statue will probably make up for me not getting a Hellraiser Priestess statue since I thought the Sideshow Collectibles one was a bit too gruesome with the exposed bones and stuff. And Kotobukiya's version wasn't as good as the artwork. Hopefully Dark Sorceress isn't a quick seller and it will be in Sideshow's sale lists that they have during the holidays and their usual events.
So I'm not sure who's into anime here but Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of my all time faves and this new (massive) statue I've recently come across really has me contemplating dropping the money on it. There's a lot more pictures at the link: https://www.sideshow.com/collectibles/evangelion-evangelion-test-type-01-prime-1-studio-906876
That's a major statue. At one of the conventions in Japan, I think they had three of them with the whole city base. Found it. Actually the one you posted is different.
Yeah those and the one I posted are huge pieces. I really like the realistic nature of the one I posted, but those in that vid look closer to the actual anime look.
I don't know how that show works. The robots seem organic when compared to stuff like the old Voltron shows. Voltron always had that scary witch character making those beasts. And Voltron was always cutting them in half with the sword.
That's one of the mysteries the show goes into. I won't spoil it though as you just need to see it for yourself. I'm planning another watch-through soon.
Sideshow is giving away $5 when you register for their At Home New York Comic Con. https://www.sideshow.com/events/sideshow-new-york-con They are also starting to give away money. But it seems like they are doing it differently now since everyone knows they give away money. Supposedly, they have a wait line to get into their site when the money code goes up. And I believe the money code isn't limited to time anymore but a number of people that can get it. People were going nuts over a $2 code earlier today. You know things are bad when people are upset over $2. Perhaps it's time Sideshow cancel the whole free money if they can't do it without having their site crash and they can't give out too much. The old days are over. Sideshow did put up this Scream figure. I only like the first and fourth movies though. I really don't know what they are going to do with yet another sequel. The fourth one was a pretty good finale to the first movie. Prime 1 Studio did an online thing last week and showed this Resident Evil diorama statue. I saw an unofficial Claire somewhere that I might get though. We'll see what else is shown from Sideshow during New York Comic Con and their annual Spooktacular. Also Kotobukiya might show their next horror figure.
A smaller and cheaper figure version of Myers from Sideshow is up for pre-order. I might get this one with bonus money even though Sideshow is extremely stingy with the free money now. I thought I had a bunch bonus dollars only to log in and find out the the code reached its usage limit. They really need to stop. Lower the prices or give more discounts and free shipping offers. In the old days it was easy to get between $50 to $75 each from the Comic Con and Spooktacular events and by the end of the year you could get a free figure or statue. You would have to be really on it to get those amounts now.
Sideshow has a Leatherface figure for the people that don't want Kotobukiya's female version. I think I saw a few other Leatherface figure teases from other companies as well. But the real thing upcoming is this Dracula statue. I hope this is the start of a Universal Monsters line of statues from this company. Definitely getting this Dracula statue. Looking forward to seeing what they do for Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Mummy.
That Leatherface figure is cool. I think it's Mezco that has another Leatherface figure coming out that let's you swap between 3 classic looks from the film. Just looked, here it is: https://www.mezcotoyz.com/one-12-collective-leatherface-deluxe-edition
That's probably it. I usually check Toyark for news and it was posted in the last week or so. Sideshow's site also shows a 1:3 scale version coming out. Also, a few others from Pop Culture Shock.
There were Caroline Munro Vampirella and Stella Star releases!?! Why don't people tell me these things?
