Kotobukiya also has a female Pinhead in the works. No artwork yet. But the big thing is by the company that made the Jason statue with the water that I posted at the top of the previous page. Another crazy looking base just like the Jason one. That pit looks real.
Just received my newest resin kit to work on. Classic Michael Meyers. It comes with a real steel blade for his knife and if you look close, his clown mask is on the steps. On the back of the steps is the image of him in the "ghost" sheets with sunglasses. This thing is quite large and heavy. Can't wait to start on it.
I'm picking up some items for the Halloween month. I was tempted to get Hot Toys Ripley figure. I watched this review. I think if they make an Aliens version they will improve the likeness. For a $200 figure it isn't as good as their other more popular characters. The reviewer mentioned that he has a Myers figure coming up too.
Michael Myers is done. My fiance assembled and painted it. It's her 3rd kit and I think she did a great job. She customized it by adding the leaves, pumpkin, and the Halloween title.
Guys, I am having a very difficult time deciding on this one. My wallet says no, but my brain is saying yes. https://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/basic-instinct-sharon-stone-blitzway-903226/
That is very cool but also quite expensive. Such a memorable scene. Bottom line will you be pissed when it's no longer available if you don't buy it?
Technically she is a horror character. I was surprised at the choice of them making her after their last Marilyn statue. I don't know how they are picking characters. $430 is actually fairly cheap for the quality and scale you are getting. I don't think Sideshow Toys official statues are at the likeness quality of Blitzway statues which are from what I've seen comparable to Hot Toys. Personally I wouldn't get this one though just because I don't know where I would put it. I'm still watching for the Hell Priestess statue which was delayed. And then there is this Morrigan statue for horror fighting video game fans. It's almost double the price of that Basic Instinct statue.
This statue would be the most expensive I'd ever purchased if I decide to do so. Perhaps I'll change my mind in the coming months. I have three other Sideshow statues and marvel at their quality. You raise a good point as to where I would also put it. I love the film dearly. Decisions decisions.
Do you have points you can use from the other three Sideshow statues? Also, their Spooktacular starts in an hour or so. That's what I'm waiting for to see if they give out any money tonight. Usually during these events they seem to give out between $50 to $100 in small amounts. https://www.sideshowtoy.com/events/spooktacular Also I think that company is making Ghostbusters figures too. I would probably get them over the Basic Instinct statue. But I haven't seen Basic Instinct since the 90s.
I used up my points after purchasing my last statue (Yvonne Craig Batgirl). I've loved Basic Instinct since seeing it in theaters 25 years ago (yikes!). I'm hoping Lionsgate gives the film a 4K remaster and UHD release. The cinematography is great and the soundtrack is timeless.
Three statues didn't get you a free Batgirl? I thought most people store points up for a free statue or figure. So far they gave out $10. That's almost free shipping. The only thing I remember from the movie is the Lotus Esprit and Sharon Stone was the hottest lady back then. She was nude in Action Jackson, Basic Instinct, and that bad apartment movie.
Actually Batgirl was my third statue (including Julie Newmar's Catwoman and an amazing rendition of Poison Ivy. I utilized the monthly payment plan, so perhaps that affected my number of points. Ah yes, Scissors. Dreadful film. Regarding Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone was gorgeous however I always found Jeanne Tripplehorn to be even sexier if that makes any sense.
I've never seen Scissors. I guess I should check it out. I also need to watch her in Deadly Blessing and a few others. I forgot her role in Total Recall is pretty good. The apartment one I was thinking about is called Sliver. Of course Casino is the movie that made me understand that no matter how pretty you can't get involved with the wrong girl. She's in some crazy scenes in Casino.
