Okay, here are two other snapshots for #1 and #4. Should be fairly easy now.
#4: Night Killer
Correct! That just leaves #1, a sleazy little Canadian number.
#1: American Nightmare
YES! Is it just me, or did this one need more hints than most?
I really want to revisit it, btw. Not least because of Dolly - he was a stand up broad. Make with the Blu-Ray already (Scorpion?).
Edit: ...and the slate is cleared.
If I'm not mistaken, Scorpion's license on the catalogue which included Canadian films like American Nightmare and Humongous expired. It was reported that this catalogue was scooped up by Scream Factory, seemingly confirmed by their release of The Brain.
Also, there were no negatives or film print available when Scorpion released their DVD, which is why a tape transfer was used. Not sure if there have been any materials found since.
Thanks! I do remember Walt saying no materials were available when asked if a Blu-ray of American Nightmare was possible, but I wasn’t aware that he no longer held the distribution rights. I can definitely see Scream Factory releasing if the materials were found, as they have many similar titles in their catalogue. Fingers crossed!
It's August. Here's a new set. These movies all have something in common.
1) Curse of the Crimson Altar?
3 is Phantasm II.
2 is Doomsday
Curse of the Crimson Altar and Doomsday are both incorrect. #1 is supernatural horror, though, and #2 is pure 80’s exploitation.
Phantasm II is correct!
Nope. Okay, I’m just gonna give the common denominator away: These are all sequels!
Number 2 is Exterminator 2! Im glad I finally got one.
Exterminator 2 is correct! I'm surprised at the relative obscurity of this one - it's pure, exploitive 80's action, and I found it loads of fun.
So... #1, #4, and #5 remain. 70's, early 90', and 10's vintage, respectively.
I believe #1 is Ghost ship of the Blind Dead
...aka The Ghost Galleon - correct!
Is no.3 PHANTASM 2 ?
Yes. See Cooperkill's post above.
Only #4 and #5 remain.
