I want Bad Taste on blu-ray so badly.

It was one of my inspirations to become a B-movie filmmaker and heavily inspired my unwatchable 2004 short "The Retarded Dead"

Come on make it happen somebody!

What ever happened to these special/ultimate editions Jackson was meant to be putting out for his films?

So theyre probably never coming then considering the new complete set for Middle Earth isn't even complete is terms of special features (even 3D versions of the films aren't included) from what I've been reading. The fans are even rolling their eyes at the absurd price for that one.

Take this with a grain of salt as it hasn't been officially confirmed by any true publication or source and only posted by someone on Facebook in one of the horror community groups, but apparently the restorations for BAD TASTE, MEET THE FEEBLES, and BRAINDEAD are in the finishing stages and will be ready by the end of the year. Someone looking to book the films for a screening contacted WingNut Films directly, and they responded to them with this:

"All Peter's early films are being cleaned up and digitally remastered at present. We don't know when they'll be ready is the bad bit. Try us in November/December!"

So that indicates they should be available for theatrical booking again at that point, but doesn't necessarily mean that's when the Blu-rays hit - but likely they'll be coming soon after so probably early 2019 we should see at least one if not all three being released, depending if they stagger them or not. Hopefully an official confirmation comes down the line sometime before then.

Great news, and plausible. Although it seems like end of year may even be optimistic; that may only mean they'll have a better idea when in Nov/Dec. :(

Still I should sell my Braindead Blu-ray. I'm not using it and I might as well get something out of it now.

Can't fucking wait. I've held off watching any of these for a decade now anticipating the HD release.

Just sold my Braindead Blu-ray a few weeks ago for some good money. I'll have to put up my Meet the Feebles DVD too. It's the Dead-Alive one which is crap but I'm relatively sure is legal. If I'm going to get anything outta it now's the time.

Hollywood Reporter posted a new article with no new info really but some better tidbits overall with one good chuck of news:

And I still need to dump my Meet the Feebles DVD on an unsuspecting public. ;)

I'm excited this includes Heavenly Creatures as well. I figured it'd just be Bad Taste, Feebles, and Dead Alive.

Jackson's current documentary looks intriguing. It's titled THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD and is 100 yr. old World War 1 footage that has been remastered , had the speed corrected, colorized and in some instances dubbed by having people's lips read. The trailer looks impressive. It's playing as a Fathom Events presentation next year.

Yeah? I'll have to check it out. I know WW1 is a passion of Jackson's. I'm always interested in WW1 since history focuses so much on WW2 I don't know half of what I should about it. But WW1 had a lot of weird shit going on too and always find it interesting when I do see documentaries on it.

I made a mistake, the film actually runs through Fathom on Dec. 17th and 27th,so it is a 2018 release.

These better come to fruition. I just sold my Dead-Alive blu-ray while I can still get a decent amount. Feels like selling a child.

This was shown on terrestrial TV about 2 to 3 weeks ago here in the UK and it's now out on blu, so there are other options if people need to see it now.

I just sold mine too about 2 weeks ago.

They played the trailer for this when I saw The Mule.
