BREAKING NEWS: Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze has been given just five weeks to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a leading US tabloid has reported.
The National Enquirer reported Swayze was diagnosed in late January, and the cancer has spread to other parts of his body.
Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's cancer centre with his wife Lisa Niemi for chemotherapy treatments, the Enquirer reported.
An insider said: "He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure.
"It's time to start praying for a miracle."
The actor, who made a name for himself in Dirty Dancing and has also starred in Ghost, Point Break and Donnie Darko, is on a liquid diet as he can't keep solids down.
Calls made by Foxnews.com to Swayze's reps were not returned, and a representative for the actor told Bang! Showbiz: "I don't know anything about this, I'll have to get back to you with more details."
A "very good source" reportedly told blogger Perez Hilton that Swayze had seemed fine.
"Patrick has been at rehearsals for a new cheerleading movie at Century City studio frequently lately, and he definitely does not look like he has five more weeks of life left.
"I'm not sure of his medical condition(s), but if he is gravely ill, he is hiding it very well," the source said.
Sufferers of pancreatic cancer typically have a survival rate of less than five per cent, but if the cancer has spread to Swayze's other vital organs he has an even lower chance of beating the disease.

That Perez Hilton source says Swayze doesn't appear to be sick at all, so either he's a great hider or this is all BS. I hope it's BS.

Fox News says maybe not so "terminal".

    In particular:
"However, Swayze’s rep says the star is continuing his normal work schedule, including working on several unnamed projects, and Swayze’s doctor says the reports of terminal cancer are unfounded."

Not a big fan, but have nothing against him and hope this isn't as bad as it sounds.

My prayers go out to him for what it's worth.

Swayze's movies are some of the most replayed that I own. I couldn't even begin to say how many times I have seen Dirty Dancing, and that is just one of his movies I pathologically adore and watch all the time.

Love him one hundred percent. I am in his corner for sure.

Well, I have no time for the guy. I'm pretty sure I don't own any of his films, and I'm in no rush too. I don't wish cancer on the guy though. So yeah, get better old chap!

Hope he makes it through, he has some great films to his credit, like Next of Kin, Ghost, and Black Dog is one the most underrated actioners of the 90s, pure top excitement.

That's absolutely horrible if he indeed does have pancreatic cancer. It's a NASTY one to have, even though no cancer is 'good'. 5 weeks is exaggerated but 5 months could be a sad reality. :( Can't imagine what he's going through right now.... Although unlikely, I hope he can somehow beat the odds and hang in there.

Dirty Dancing was shocking cheese but fun,

    Red Dawn was outstanding exploitation

The Outsiders was just outstanding. His best work for mine.
