It's one of the licenses from Paramount, so perhaps so. I don't think Olive have even released anything else new from Paramount in quite a while now.

I think shortly after 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean was released, I believe they announced they were done with the Paramount deal.

Thanks for the info. So I guess other Paramount-licensed titles will eventually be going OOP as well? I got "Ticks" on DVD before I really started investing in Bluray. Guess it will have to do.

I seem to recall them stating that somewhere also.

Probably so then. I'm sure the licenses are only for a specific amount of time, perhaps just a couple of years...so they could all start to go OOP in the near future.

It would probably be wise to pick up Ticks now if anybody is interested. Otherwise people will inevitably be upset later on when it hits ebay for outrageous prices.

I remember watching that years ago - it's a nice looking film but very much a watch-once. Not as polished as Delta Force or the Missing in Action series.

More MGM from Olive, all coming 6/23:

    Thrashin'
    Stone Cold
    Johnny Be Good
    The Mean Season
    The Thing With Two Heads
    Fled
    Soul Plane

Excited for Trashin', but disappointed that Olive probably won't carry over the features from MGM's Special Edition. I can live without the skate park one, but the other featurettes are great!

I'm in for one Johnny Be Good.

Here's wishing for a Hamburger: The Motion Picture (1986) release. I'm pretty sure MGM has it from Media Home Entertainment

Trashin' is pretty decent, but I'd much rather see RAD finally hit Blu-ray.

I have the German MediaBook of Stone Cold, which also has the sequel...so I'll wait and see how Olive's release plays out.

    I wish too!

Jealous. I always wanted to pick that up but could never find any info on if it was worth the $40+. Didn't want to rick it being an upscale or a DNR mess. No amount is too much for a proper STONE COLD bd.

OK, an update on the Olive/Paramount deal, I have permission to say this!!! The Olive/Paramount deal is not done, they're still doing films, just not cartoons anymore (which is a dealbreaker).

Well if you're like me, you're also a fan of animation. Also, no more Betty Boop.

So... The word you're really looking for is 'disappointing' rather than 'deal breaker'. Or do you actually mean that you won't be buying any Olive releases from now on? Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

But yeah, I can see how it would be disappointing for you.

    :p

TBH, I never got an Olive release, none of them interested me. I got the Paramount titles I need (Friday the 13th I-VII, The Truman Show, The Elephant Man, Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, The SpongeBob SqaurePants Movie, The Addams Family 1-2, Indiana Jones 1-4, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Team America: World Police, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and Rango and soon The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water and Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (And Don't Come Back)!).

Still the fact that their deal is continuing with films only makes me happy. Still, the day Olive announces releases the remaining United Artists DePatie-Freleng library and Out There The Complete Series, I'll be on them like ketchup on a burger! :)
