Guys, Dangerously Close is on blu-ray! Why isn't everyone geeking out and discussing?

It has an '80s cast if I've ever seen one, including John Stockwell, J Eddie Peck, Return Of The Living Dead and Friday The 13th alums Thom Mathews and Miguel A Nunez, Bradford Bancroft (from the similar 3:15), Robert Rusler, not to mention scream queens Dedee Pheiffer and Karen Witter. It's Cannon Films set in a high school. What's not to love?

Blu-ray looks great too. Only extra is a trailer, but regardless, I'm overjoyed to own this in hi-def! And fans of movies like Class Of 1984, Tuff Turf, 3:15, etc should be overjoyed as well!

Wow, that's awesome! I didn't see this one coming. I already have a 720p HDTV rip which looks really good, so 1080p should look great.

Two other interesting MGM acquisitions from Olive, both hitting blu-ray on May 19th:

Extremities, the 1986 Farrah Fawcett rape-revenge drama.

Peter Benchley's Creature, the made-for-TV movie with Craig T. Nelson and Kim Cattrall. I'd be curious to see this again, I remember enjoying it back when it originally aired.

^^ Creature is pretty decent. I never thought it would be Blu-ray material though.

I think Peter Benchley's "The Beast" released a couple of years before it was far better though. Unfortunately that is out on Blu-ray, which actually looks worse than the DVD released by the same studio (Timeless Media Group). It's one of the only Blu-rays I know of that's 720p native...and a poor upconvert to boot.

^ I haven't seen The Beast since back when it aired either, but I remember not liking it as much. But then again, the only scene I remember is when the two horny teenagers sneak in. Doesn't the squid grab the girl's arm or something? I wouldn't mind seeing that one again either.

I miss all those '90s TV miniseries based off best-selling novels. :(

One of my favorites of the genre. I caught this on Universal HD more than 6 years ago and it had more nudity than the crappy fullscreen DVD. I hope they use that same cut. Day one purchase for me regardless.

Im with you on this. Dangerously Close is one of my favorite movies. I can't even count how many times I've seen it since the early 90s. It's awesome that a widescreen version has finally come out. You're right about the cast, it's great. I love Karen Witter. I always associate Thom Mathews with Alien From L.A. and Robert Rustler = Thrashin!

This is a first - a baseball-themed horror flick lol. I've never seen or even heard of NIGHT GAME but it sounds right up my alley and can't wait to watch my copy. The art on that BD cover makes it look like a slasher flick, though. To those who are considering a blind buy I'd suggest reading the synopsis first as it doesn't sound like that type of film - just an average but enjoyable thriller. Hopefully it'll appeal to people who aren't into baseball (as I am).
