I honestly do not understand the hate for Annabelle. Was it amazing and as good as Conjuring? Hell no. But I'm sorry it doesn't deserve the hate it gets. It was a fun horror diversion. It's one of those movies I could sit back and enjoy on a rainy day.

I loved the homage (or rip off) of my favorite scare scene from Bava's Shock aka Beyond the Door II.

I liked it too. Especially the scene where the doll rises in the air, and then you see the demon behind it. SCARED THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME!!

Yeah that demon thing was pretty effective and well done.

Yawn. I find all these flicks very forgettable. The first Conjuring was good enough, but I found the sequel boring. Both Annabelle flicks are OK. But I feel this entire "universe" is an example of the continued pussification of the genre this century.

Same. Looks like a huge bore to me. These movies need to go away for a while, they've really run this genre into the ground.

Also, why does it say "MAKE SURE YOU WATCH TO THE END"? There's nothing after the title. So dumb. They must know how boring the trailer is and they're worried people will shut it off.

Yeah man, I really appreciate any horror film that generates all the revenue these cash cows Wan produces........ but the gore hound slasher fan that resides deep inside me truly hates these flicks.

Looks great. The location looks especially amazing. Looks like Hogwarts! Haha.

The Conjuring films have been great. It surprised me when I hear people here say they're boring. The second one was especially great and I really thought the Nun was creepy and a great addition to that film. Here's hoping this solo film will be just as good.
The first Annabelle has been the only shit one.

I would agree that I thought The Conjuring 2 was excellent for this type of movie, and probably the best of this wave of ghost movies... but between this series, the Insidious movies, and all the rip-offs in between, man am I over this type of movie. They've gotten so bad, I almost miss remakes and torture porn.

I definitely don't miss torture porn in the slightest. After the last Insidious I think that franchise may have run its course. The Conjuring films are definitely my go to films of this type made in recent years.

You know whats my favorite similar flick to these in recent years? Ouija: Origins of Evil. That movie puts all these Conjuring films to shame, in my opinion.

I watched that one again recently and it really isn't great. It starts really solid but totally falls apart by the end imo. It's ok but I would definitely not place it above the Conjuring films.

Saw this trailer in the theater twice this weekend. It played before Gotti as well as Superfly. Trailer looks promising and it's interesting that Taissa Farmiga has a starring role. I'm looking forward to seeing it. On a different note I was the only person in the theater to see Superfly. That hasn't happened to me in over 20 years.

That's awesome. I've come close a few times but never have I had a whole theater to myself. Someone walked into a midnight showing of Belko Experiment right as it started, it was just me before he strolled in.......did you randomly yell obsentities out throughout the movie? "Cock! Balls! Whooooooore!".........cuz I don't see how I wouldn't lol

Anyone going to see it this weekend?

I want to because it's an excuse to go to the IMAX screen, but I'm worried it will bore the shit out of me. Reviews have been scathing. I was considering checking out Peppermint instead, but the reviews for that are even worse. Maybe I'll skip both altogether and wait for The Predator IMAX next weekend?

Thanks to AMC A-List, I caught a double feature of Searching and Kin on Thursday, and had both theaters completely to myself. It was wonderful.

I've actually had it happen a few times recently, The Darkest Minds, Unfriended: Dark Web, and Slender Man being a few that come to mind. It's extremely rare though, and to have it happen twice in the same day kind of blew my mind. I guess Hollywood is releasing a lot of crap no one is interested in lately.

Frenchie was the best thing in the Film. I really wish they would have cast Manson instead of the cgi nun

I find it strange that the Conjuring movies are so good but they just can't seem to get it right with the prequels beside Anabelle Creation.
Granted, The Nun seems to at least be more well received than the first Anabelle movie. It's a shame the reviews are all mostly saying it's a jumpscare feast with not a lot of meat on its bones. I'm on the fence whether I should still check it out or just wait for Blu-ray.

Yeah it wasn’t as good as Annabelle 2.
But it had some creepy moments and a nice gothic setting. And it connects well to the Conjuring movies. But the Nun scenes in Conjuring 2 was scarier.
    I’ll give it a 3 out of 5.

Overall this is how a rank the movies:

    1. Conjuring 2
    2. Conjuring
    3. Annabelle Creation
    4. The Nun

I really don’t wanna include this shitty turd in my list... but sadly I have to ;)

the only thing I've seen from The Nun is the trailer and the Mark Kermode review and it's enough to not make me see it

I thought it was decent enough. Agree with Steel76' list 100%. Zero replay value for me most likely. I watched Conjuring 2 again last week and still love it.
