All other releases had the original R-Rated Theatrical Version.
This is tempting, because Scream's Phantasm II is a terrible transfer. However, II is the worst sequel aside from V, so I'm still kind of like...
I still don't want another box set with a Sphere, and I already paid for all of the movies individually. Phantasm is my favorite series but I still don't appreciate being milked for all that I'm worth. And I really don't care for Well Go as company, honestly. I just don't think they are a good match with Coscarelli and I hate that there are Asian movie trailers at the beginning of each disc. First World Problems, I know...
The first WELL GO set is enough for me. At the rate I watch movies nowadays the BD'S I have will suffice.
Release date and price revealed!:
Mark it down; October 22nd (and found some use for my birthday money!)!
Is Arrow going to get another shot at this, too?
If so, they haven't hinted at it yet.
If they release the uncut II as a solo down the line, I'll get it and swap out my disc from the previous set but I'm not buying the whole thing all over again.
Do we know if these are in standard blu-ray cases like the original set?
If they're doing some gimmicky book packaging or anything that is going to scratch discs, I'll probably stick with my old set.
No, we don't know anything yet about the cases/artwork, or if a book will be included like in the old set, etc..
That's why I'm holding on to my old set first.
It's a little weird we haven't gotten any more details with this like 2 months away right?
If you already have 1 of the 2 previous boxsets, JUST SAY NO. There will eventually be a single-disc release of the uncut Phantasm II 4k restoration. Deep-down, you all KNOW this is true. Don't cave in.
I hear that. I can’t afford to be buying this stuff over and over again. Especially, when there’s so many other great releases to spend money on.
It appears this set is delayed.
Well at least it's not a huge delay, take that what you will.
Personally, I feel this delay could be a good opportunity to include the original theatrical versions for the first 2 films while there's time.
