It's best to create a new thread dedicated to this set to distance any confusion with the old set now...

    New features include:

    - New Audio Mix for PHANTASM
    - New 4k transfer for PHANTASM II
    - New/extended feature length documentary on the making of RAVAGER

Honestly, this came out of left field! Well Go knows how to celebrate the 40th anniversary in style.

Gonna be a pretty penny for me but luckily, I'll be getting birthday money around that time!

Wonder what the price will be. Probably very close to $80-$100 range.

That white set is beautiful, cant justify rebuying for a 4k transfer of P2. It is great for fans who missed the first set.

Now I'm glad I blinked and missed the original release. I got Arrow's boxset so I was going to live but it did kinda irk me I had missed out on Well Go's when it was relatively inexpensive with unique features.

I still have the Anchor Bay UK sphere set and the Arrow sphere set. If I get this I'll have three sphere's!

Probably so. The original set was $79.98 SRP

Good news for the people who missed the box set. Bit of a "what? already with the double dip baiting?" for those who didn't.

I'm not sure I can justify it. I've got the Well Go, the Arrow, and even the Anchor Bay DVD sphere set. An upgrade, particularly this soon, isn't tempting.

I missed the original set, so I am as in for this one as can be. Hopefully, there will be the ability to pre-order somewhere when the time comes.

I’ll consider it if a non Sphere set is one of the things announced by Arrow tomorrow. I just don’t want a sphere. I already have the Anchor Bay one and I no longer hold any interest in tchotchkes.

They'll eventually put out a stand-alone release of the restored II. It'd be crazy to get roped into grabbing the new box if you got the old one or the Arrow. Enough's enough.

Unless you are a huge fan of the series and feel it is worth it. There will be confirmed changes on 3 of the movies in the set.

Hopefully they at least include all of the previous bonus features + the book. If they do that, it would at least be an incentive to buy the new set and sell off the old one.

Selling the old would definitely be a prerequisite for me--but I haven't had the energy for that type of stuff for a LOOOOOOONG time.

I have the Arrow set and still want this one lol. It looks pretty damn gorgeous in that mock-up.

I’m hoping Arrow will release it individually in the UK.

There is a work print that's around six minutes longer. Don't know if they will include all that footage or just more gore and a few extra moments.

Sweet finally the uncut gore :)
Seen the workprint (fuzzy like hell), and in the R-rated, the blood fountain in the Sphere scene was almost blink and you miss it in comparison.

    Info about the workprint here:

Doesn't sound like all the uncut gore, he notes sphere scene, not scenes, there was a couple of sphere scenes cut based on the deleted footage, it's good news, but would want more details before dropping the cash.

I'm thinking I might have to pick this up now. A new 4K remaster of part 2 and it's uncut too? I'm in. The old transfer never looked particularly bad but these old transfers really start to show their age when you watch them on a 4K TV so a new remaster is always welcome.
