    Hmmm.....

    http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/69438/exclusive-camille-keaton-back-spit-grave-3/

Following up on this morning’s news, Dread Central has learned exclusively that Camille Keaton, who played Jennifer in Meir Zarchi’s 1978 cult classic I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman), will be starring in the next film.

The project is now titled I Spit on Your Grave – Deja-vu and, as it turns out, is an actual sequel written by Zarchi that shares characters as well as continuity with his original 1978 cult classic Day of the Woman, aka I Spit on Your Grave. Chad Ferrin and Terry Zarchi are producing with Meir once again directing.

The project has nothing to do with CineTel Films or Anchor Bay.

Stay tuned for more as it comes.

    Synopsis
Following her rape, Jennifer Hills wrote a best-selling account of her ordeal and of the controversial trial in which she was accused of taking the law into her own hands and brutally killing her assailants. In the small town where the rape and revenge took place, the relatives of the four rapists she killed are furious that the court declared her not guilty and resolve to take justice into their own hands.

It could just be a cash grab, but I have to admit that the basic concept sounds like it could be extremely interesting

Isn't this just the same old - you killed a member of my family now I must seek revenge - that we have seen a million times already. Couldn't they come up with something original or is originality dead and I am asking too much.

cash grab sounds like. but I doubt it will get past dvd. and be forgotten about.. I just don't get why they wait 45 years to make sequels.. to something that wasn't even a major hit until years later.

Not a huge fan of the original, but the remake proved that there's still quality filmmaking to be mined from the concept if done properly. If the original filmmakers are game, then why not?

I say why not? It's an interesting concept; what happens to these people dozens of years down the road? It worked for Psycho 2, 23 years after the original. I mean, as long as you're not trying to pretend it's an immediate sequel, and it doesn't sound like they are.

Keep in mind, the only witness to Jennifer's rape (other than us, the movie viewer) was Jennifer herself. If something like this happened for real, you'd have all the families talking about what "good boys" the creeps were, and be aghast that Jennifer was acquitted of brutally murdering their "angels". I think it's a good treatment, and I'm looking forward to it.

I agree with Paff. I'm actually looking forward to this since the original people are coming back for it.

Not really a fan of the original, but I hope they change that title. It almost sounds like a parody of the first... and that's just really tasteless.

Did we really need a Jason Vorhees in space or fighting Freddy? Just put kids in the woods and slaughter them. This could be a great spin off, I just watched the trailer and its bonkers. I can forgot originality if its a great story and this seems like it is.
