Ok trailer, I've been let down by these indie horror films in the past so unless it comes to video on demand, I'll pass.

Saw this yesterday, and sadly pretty mediocre. Most of the first hour is pretty boring, especially when the maincharcters is on screen. When the action really kicks in at the last 10 minutes, it´s too little and too late.
Also there are a lot of loose ends and plotpoints that don´t go anywhere.
Plus an ending that kinda feels a bit like a TV series season final cliffhanger.

The idea about the monsters was pretty cool, and there was a scene that kinda reminded me of the final confrontation in "the Howling". If it had spent a bit more time with the monster stuff, instead of the family stuck in the cellar (most of the running time), it could have been a pretty cool movie.

Mediocre acting from most of the maincharacters don´t help things either, some of the badguys and side characters was more interesting though, but we don´t get enough screentime of them.

It also have some of the worst goofs as well, as the family hides from the storm, and all hell breaks loose outside, which makes the entire stormcellar shake and things falling everywhere, but after the storm, in the house above, and the outside, it´s like the storm never happened.

The monsters was okey, but we mostly got closeups on their heads and some clawed hand from time to time. But after a while it felt like they only had one "muppet" to play with. and most of their actions are off-screen. Well, this isn´t Alien, where less is more, this one actually needed more, MUCH more.

I give it 2,5 out of 5. It had some cool ideas, but sadly they never did enough with it, and wasted most of the running time on things that didn´t really lead anywhere interesting.

No problems. Let us know what you think about the movie, maybe you will like it better than I did, going in with lowered expectations ;)

Was pretty darn good! Not a classic, but you could do a lot worse for a 1.20 rental at redbox.

I thought the first half of the film was really solid, and then it just went downhill pretty much from there. The overall plot just became too ludicrous... I don't know who was dumber, the "victim" family or the "killer" family.
