You pretty much lost me at Open Water (love this movie) but I'd say about 70% of your list could be indeed labeled as "shittiest".

Ugh. Open Water was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a theater. Two whining idiots bobbing for an hour and a half didn't warrant my $9, which pretty much covered the entire budget. The sequel almost made the list, too. I'm curious as to which others you thought don't belong.

Yeah, Open Water is one of the 20 tolerable horror films I've seen come out of the last 13 years in the genre. That's one huge Family Feud red-X strike-1 for you, Cooper.

I can sure as hell come up with 113 horror movies worse than the original Prom Night. I'd say shame-on-you, but that's reserved for bashing Swamp Thing- which is fantastic.

Also, Poltergeist III and Hellgate are fun.

And... uh... isn't it extremely debatable whether The Last Wave is a horror film or not? I admit I haven't seen it but I have seen the Trailers from Hell feature / video on it and even then, Peter Weir really is not exactly "renowned" for "scary, bloody," etc(.) films.

Ugh. Prom Night. I've watched that one quite a few times, to see why it has a following, but I can't never figure out any reasons. Jaime Lee should have just come out with a disco exercise video, as it would have had the same impact.

Swamp Thing fantastic? Ugh. I can think of another F-word to describe that turkey, but it certainly doesn't end with "antastic"." More like "ucking boring."

Oh, Prom Night is underwhelming to be sure. But don't forget: you're talking about WORST territory here. You need to take that distinction seriously when we're talking about early 80's slashers. If you want to make an example of something, why not title your article / thread (etc): Overrated? I didn't see Slaughter High, Graduation Day, Sorority House Massacre, Slumber Party Massacre, Slumber Party Massacre 2, Slumber Party Massacre 3, and many others on your list and they were all "worse" than Prom Night.

And, yeah, Swamp Thing is a good movie. And "fucking boring" is 2 words, genius.

Well, I've seen all the other movies you've mentioned, and while some suck (notably Slaughter High and Sorority House Massacre) they all have one thing in common: forward momentum. To me, Prom Night is devoid of progression and would rather capitalize on a dance craze than horror.

But the killer is trapped in a never-ending nightmare, tormented by the memory of his own friends killing his own sister. Which I wouldn't use as a defense except that the death scenes are off-putting in only the best way, there's a kinky kind of sensory sadism in the killer's physical presence throughout, the movie has a functioning theme of mirrors and great visual stimulus for a cheap slasher, the characters are cleverly and respectfully written for a change, and the disco songs are actually good. And I don't even like disco- but these are all mood enhancers. God, I didn't see this movie until I was in high school and I have nostalgia for the soundtrack.

It side-steps forward progression. Yes. But, so do a lot of other horror movies with quality parts.

Sorry but - again, given the fact that you're trying to brand this as worthy of placement on a Top 113 Worst list - this is a losing battle for you. (Oh, and, you can't say Slumber Party Massacre 2 went anywhere. That seemed to be the whole point of the movie: we can do whatever stupid thing comes in our heads and we don't have to explain it, it doesn't have to pay off, and the end will end in the middle or the beginning- you'll never know which because we didn't write anything.)

Umm... okay. Thank you for clarifying what my opinions should be. Before I look into my heart and soul while forming my own judgments, I'll be sure to check in with you.

    Grow up.

If you don't like criticism, don't post your list in a special thread (not that that's why I'm replying). If this is just your opinion, keep a light attitude. Don't get defensive about it.

The only time these films should be on anyone's bottom 113 is when you have only seen less then 500 horror films.

Open Water (Might be in my top 113)
Eyes of a Stranger (seen way worse then that)
The Last Wave (Might be in my top 113)
Paranormal Activity 2 (Might be in my top 113)
Swamp Thing (it's not great but it's fun)
Prom Night (1980) (I've always loved this movie. Never understood the hate)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose (seen way worse than that)
The Happening (ridiculous movie but I still find it fun)
Death Proof (Might be in my top 113)
Scream and Scream Again (seen way worse than that)
Two Thousand Maniacs! (I love this movie)
    Strangeland (underrated)
Funny Games (1997) (don't agree with the message, good movie)
The Poughkeepsie Tapes (I liked it)
Death Ship (seen way worse than that)
The Cat o’ Nine Tails (nothing early Argento should be on that list)

Something Wicked This Way Comes? Really? I can definitely think of about 113 more films worse than that! Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I guess. Loved this movie as a kid and still do today. Sure, now it has that childhood nostalgia attached to it for me, but I always thought it was a great flick.

As of now I've seen over 2,700, and can dissect why each movie you've listed is among the worst I've seen. But I won't. The reviews speak for themselves. However, I do have to wonder about Paranormal Activity 2. I mean, there was more focus on a pool filter than anything else.

At least 15 movies on there I wouldn't consider even in area of bad. Average at a minimum with a few being above average. But for the most part the others are pretty bad films.

This is all opinion based obviously.

But you have to admit, it's hard to take anyone seriously when they don't like the film Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein ;)

So you have seen over 2700 (I probably own close to that many) and you thought 2600 were better than Open Water, The Last Wave, Paranormal Activity 2, Death Proof, Funny Games (1997),The Poughkeepsie Tapes or The Cat o’ Nine Tails? You must be watching a hidden stash of horror flicks that we aren't aware of.

Your list contains too many fun movies that don´t deserve to be on a shit list.

From your list, I would erase those titles...
    Laughing Dead (dumb fun)
Eyes of a Stranger (classic stuff)
The Last Slumber Party (SOV heaven)
    Women Behind Bars (WIP heaven)
    Funny Man (dumb fun)
    Savage Weekend (classic stuff)
    Paranormal Activity 2 (really???)
    Swamp Thing (classic stuff)
Prom Night (1980) (shame on you)
    Poltergeist III (classic stuff)
    Death Proof (Tarantino´s never bad)
    Vampire Journals (dumb fun)
Hellraiser: Bloodline (the last good Helraiser)
The Dead Are Alive (classic stuff)
    Two Thousand Maniacs! (Jesus)
    Bloody New Year (classic stuff)
    Strangeland (classic stuff)
    Highway to Hell (dumb fun)
    Boarding House (SOV heaven)
    Death Ship (classic stuff)
The Cat o’ Nine Tails (what a crime)
    Hellgate (dumb fun)
    Home Sweet Home (dumb fun)
    Driller Killer (classic stuff)
    Transylvania 6-5000 (dumb fun)
Flowers in the Attic (classic stuff)
Psycho Cop (the biggest crime on your list, Bobby will hunt you down)

You are way too demanding regarding your viewing pleasures.
With that in mind, may we see your top 113???

Why don't you ask what his top 10 Non-Horror films of all time?

One hint, Spider-Man 2 is on that list.

WTF... he considers the original Prom Night one of the 113 worst horror movies but he considers Prom Night III: The Last Kiss one of the top 13 of the 80s.

Also, the remake of Salem’s Lot one of the best of the 00s... surely, not bad, but not great either.
