Quality for VS is top notch. Miles about Scream Factory.

Apparently VS has another slasher in the waiting from the 80s. I am guessing that it might be The Slayer or Funeral Home.

Nice!...very interested to see how this compares to the Code Red DVD seeing how there was so much controversy surrounding that release.

So they're not tying this Blu-ray release into a future remake, then? There's no telling when that will come to fruition (if ever). I recall Gary Sales, the producer, talking about deleted scenes and I hope this DOES come to fruition, even if it's just a collection of scenes in an extras package. A Director's Cut would be exciting, though, if the cut footage is any good. The film does feel like parts of it were missing. The ending, for instance, just felt rushed and didn't make much sense. Can't wait for more details.

I´m glad Vinegar Syndrome is releasing this.
Their high-def releases so far have been great :)

Happy that they are releasing more horror.

Quite frankly, Madman doesn't need a remake either - the effectiveness of the movie does not rely so much on the originality of the story anyway, but on the tone and mood of the movie, so hinging a Blu-ray release on a remake doesn't make that much sense.

I always thought that the rights to release it on blu rested in the hands of Code Red, btw. But I'm not sorry to see it go to to VS. Not that I don't enjoy my Code Red releases, but there is always a sense of trepidation when Bill announces something. His official Facebook group is a nuthouse at the moment, and there is all the in-stock/out-of-stock, will-he/won't-he ship to Europe, etc. Too much drama around that company for comfort!

Another one gets away from Code Red. Is anybody else as relieved as I am?

    Yep, I am :D

I hope he looses the rights to all his movies.
There are better labels out there that deserves a chance on movies like Nightmare and Butcher Baker, Nightmare Maker.
Let´s hope that Synapse or Vinegar Syndrome get a hold of them in a near future.

It's pretty obvious at this point that Bill is just bat shit nuts, but one thing I've always wondered and this is an honest to God, sincere question, is the guy a little "slow"? Reading anything the guy types is a fucking chore. Everything is full of misspellings and hardly anything even remotely resembles a coherent thought.

Is he not a native English speaker? Reading his posts gives me an English-as-a-second-language vibe.

That's another reason I'm surprised he's still been able to run CodeRed. It makes his rants look even more stupid than then already are and it comes across as very unprofessional.

Oh no, rest assured English (or his version of it) is indeed his first language. Not sure where he's from, but in the DeadPit podcast I heard with him, he sounded like a pissed off, uneducated New Yorker.

I find it so hilarious how many people on forums (including this one) would get up in arms every time I spoke negatively about Bill and his business practices. One by one, everyone's finally realizing what a fucking nutcase he really is.

I sympathize with people who suffer from mental illness... until they become dickheads.

I'm also glad Code Red lost this one.

I'm hoping that the Code Red rights to The Mutilator will expire and Buddy Cooper will suddenly... magically... find a workable print of the uncut version, and let either Vinegar Syndrome, Synapse, or Grindhouse do a proper DVD/Blu-ray version.
