I've seen similar reports re: the Creature replacement disc, so that probably is it.
Thanks. That would be classic. "What? You want a replacement for the faulty product you bought? Sure thing! Make sure you're home to sign for it, even though you didn't have to sign for the original product that you purchased in good faith."
Yup, they required a signature for mine. Had no idea what it was until I opened it. It was the Creature replacement disc. I lucked out as someone was home at the time.
That sure is something. Now I ask. Would you drive 30 miles to get that replacement disc?
Well, hell, I was about to process for my replacement disc. I guess I need to be sure someone is home.
No, and to paraphrase Coburn in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, they can take that disc, shove it up their ass, and set fire to it.
When I have the time and inclination, I'll bitch to Universal. This is like a sick joke. The only way they could show more contempt for their customers would be to have the discs delivered by rampaging sex offenders dressed like Fedex Delivery drivers. They could push their way into our homes and literally do to us what Universal has already done in a figurative sense.
Thanks! I feel a little better now. Ha.
Over the weekend, I finally got a shipping notification from FedEx Delivery Manager specifying a Friday, 11/23/2018 delivery date for my replacement disc. That would've been just fine, since I have no plans to leave the house on Black Friday, but FedEx Delivery Manager just sent me a notice that they tried to deliver it today and will attempt to redeliver it tomorrow. That's not going to work, so I put in a request to hold it at a FedEx OnSite location at a nearby grocery store. Fingers crossed.
11/22/2018 Update: I picked this disc up, yesterday, so if you are signed up for FedEx Delivery Manager you can redirect your package to be held at a more convenient location that their main distribution hubs.
Two things of note.
1. Don't redirect packages to be picked up at a grocery store on the days leading up to Thanksgiving.
2. After all the hassle, they didn't even have me sign for it, though they did ask for ID verification.
I was literally thinking about whenever Phobia would come to blu-ray after browsing Huston's filmography.
4K remaster of Nightmare Beach coming next summer!
Already have the 88 Films Nightmare Beach disc. PQ is superb so I won't be needing this but I'm excited for the possibility of other Studiocanal titles.
There's another sale going on right now that's better than their Black Friday one. Trilogy of Terror, Night Stalker and Night Strangler are $14.99 each.
^ My order from the sale just arrived (plus Creepshow):
That poster art looks awesome.
The artwork is the U.S. and Italian theatrical posters.
So somebody has Superstition and it's between Shout and Kino. I seriously can't decide who might be best but Kino will definitely be cheaper. I hope they at least ask Studiocanal for a fresh scan.
