Trilogy Of Terror is coming from Kino, but I don't believe it is the title they are referring to, nor is it part of the MGM library.

Legendary producer/director Dan Curtis (The Night Stalker, The Night Strangler) teams up with renowned sci-fi/horror writers Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) and William F. Nolan (Logan’s Run) to present three tales of horrific suspense in this highly rated and critically acclaimed made-for-television anthology that also showcases the tremendous acting talent of Karen Black (Burnt Offerings, The Day of the Locust), who plays four distinct roles. In Julie, an aggressive college student seduces and ultimately blackmails his seemingly shy English professor; in Millicent and Therese, two polar-opposite sisters become increasingly hell-bent on the undoing of one another; and in Amelia, a woman falls prey to a murderous Zuni fetish doll. The strong supporting cast includes George Gaynes (Tootsie), John Karlen (Daughters of Darkness) and Gregory Harrison (TV’s Trapper John, M.D.).

Can't say that I'm a fan of the artwork.

Same, but Trilogy Of Terror has never had good artwork.

I do like the VHS cover for Trilogy Of Terror II though, but even that is pretty basic.

I guess avoiding spoilers wasn't a priority with that one.

If you haven't seen the film you wouldn't know who that is on the cover.

In a movie that stars Karen Black in every segment?

The average person wouldn’t know that information either until they watched it.

The average viewer probably wouldn't even know who Karen Black is. Also the picture doesn't look like Black to me.

I don't completely disagree with you guys, but how many people do you think will buy this disc without knowing at least a few things about Trilogy of Terror? This disc certainly won't be flying off the shelves at Wal-Mart with the latest rom-com nonsense. So I'm not sure the concept of the "average viewer" applies. This is a 40+-year-old genre film that was made for TV. The "average" viewer for this disc will be someone like all of us. Hell, chances are 95% of the people who buy this disc will have already seen the film. So maybe it doesn't matter at all. I'm still opposed to using a surprise ending image of any kind on a disc cover, especially when an image of the Zuni fetish doll would lead to a lot more blind buys from people who would recognize it and say, "Oh, it's THAT movie."

You're probably right that most people that would buy the movie have seen it already. I also agree the doll would have been a better cover.

That one would make all of us happier. In isolation, the image they chose makes Trilogy of Terror look like an Exorcist rip-off.

I think this was the MGM TV Movie they were referencing last week.

Kino says on FB they're going to include the original pilot TV episode called The Haunted; which was re-edited with new footage to pad the film and shot a new ending. So this will be a real treat! And David J. Schow has said on FB he'll be doing the commentary track. He's written long ago about it here on an Outer Limits blog: https://wearecontrollingtransmission.blogspot.com/2011/02/lost-outer-limits.html

The Night Stalker and Night Strangler are up for pre-order at Amazon. They'll be cheaper later, and I almost always wait--but not for these two.
