https://search.app.goo.gl/F9pZK9c One of my favorite horror movie dads... He wasn't a douche like Glenn's dad...
Very sad news. Saxon was great in so many roles. Too many to list here. As a longtime Karate student myself, I especially enjoyed him in Enter the Dragon.
A.V. Club has a nice write up: https://news.avclub.com/r-i-p-john-saxon-veteran-b-movie-stalwart-1844508283 Always a pleasure to see him show up in a film and he's in many of my favorites. I'd been thinking of watching The Girl Who Knew Too Much a lot recently and it's time to do it. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
R.I.P. What a fantastic career. I was fortunate to have met Mr. Saxon at a Los Angeles Weekend of Horrors in 1995. He was there to promote New Nightmare along with Heather Langencamp. He was cordial and posed for photos and signed autographs without asking to be paid. He will be missed.
A true icon of horror and exploitation for decades, and he was active until quite recently - RIP, John.
Very sad news. I remember first being introduced to him in A Nightmare On Elm Street and then seeing him pop up in different things here and there. It was always a pleasure. He will be missed. RIP.
Watched Tenebrae again recently and was wondering how old John Saxon must be by now and when it would be his turn for the "RIP" thread. Sad news. Just reading a bio and apparently he was actually a karate black belt IRL and in 1971 was the international middleweight karate champion.
