I'm surprised there isn't a thread on this Upcoming April 6th release. Apparently they had a contest to pick the cover and the winner will be announced soon out of these three options. These are the films included.. Never Take Candy from a Stranger (1960) (aka Never Take Sweets from a Stranger) The Snorkel (1958) Maniac (1963) Cash on Demand (1961) Stop Me Before I Kill! (1960) (aka The Full Treatment) These Are The Damned (1963) (aka The Damned). I personally have never seen any of these but hey any Hammer is good Hammer in my book. I'm all over this.
i think this was briefly mentioned in another thread, but the covers weren't posted, so i suppose this is relevant (no reason to call out the duplicate-thread police) personally i like the noose one the best. it does a great job of looking like a pulp 70's paperback. the knife one is fine, but it seems less natural than the noose one - like its kind of trying too hard. and the other one is just ugly. i hope they go with the noose cover, but im guessing the knife one will win in the end.
I also prefer the "noose" cover and I agree the knife cover will most likely win. Does anyone know which one was actually chosen? I will be buying this, no matter the cover.
Well I only used "Hammer's Icons of Suspense" as the thread title, so I can see where he'd have a hard time finding it.
? It comes up in searches for either "Icons of Suspense" , "Icons of Suspense: Hammer Films" and "Icons of Suspense Collection"
based on the recent review up on dvdtalk.com ( http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/41968/sony-icons-of-suspense/ ), it seems they went with the phone cover. figures they'd pick the worst one (IMO). thats kind of a bummer. wish they'd done reversible art or something like that.
Yeah I read the DVD Savant review and it looks like a great set, but unfortunately I've sworn off new DVDs for awhile at least. I'll be putting this on top of the wishlist though. :troll:
I've read good reviews for this, really looking forward to it.THE SNORKEL played theatrically in New York recently.
