Agreed - there's nothing funnier than a farting contest between a man & a CG dog! I still crack up every time I see that.

You know what...if we're just talking DVD's, I've only double dipped once--and that was for the uncut version of Cinema Paradiso. I think that's pretty good for 300 or so discs in the collection. I generally hold on the big studio releases because there probably will be a better version available the next year. Add that to the fact that I generally only buy obscure titles makes it easier to resist the urge to buy the same flick twice.

Other than that, I've only replaced my VHS's with DVD's. :)

What a horrible one to rebuy!! :D

I haven't bought many DVDs over and over again, because I like to wait for a SE, bought with the first Highlander, I bought it on VHS twice and DVD twice, but it's my favorite film!!

I have never double dipped...... unfortunately, I'm not wealthy enough to do that, and there's so much I still have to buy, it just wouldn't make sense to buy a title twice.... HOWEVER, I will be picking up the F13 Box.......

    The Ultimate Edition

    Zombie:
    AB version
    Shriek Show 2 Disc

    Big Money Hustlas

I guess you can count Texas Chainsaw Massacre DVD from 1998 (with the red cover) and the re-issue cover. However I got the re-issue cover for free so it doesn't really count.

I'm really not a big fan of the double dip unless the original is REALLY bare bones and the newest version is packed with extras. Frankly, I don't have enough money :(

Usually I sell the old disc when this happens, so I'll stick with ones I got stuck wuth the old for whatever reason.

    Terminator
    Platoon
American Psycho (waiting to sell the un-rated region 1, got the un-cut region 2)
Alien Legacy (kept for the cool looking box and extra commentary)
Vampires (can't get nothing for old region 1, got region 2 SE with DTS but forced french subs on some players)
They Live and Prince of Darkness, kept last copies of old snappers and got French discs with 5.1 and more extras than the common region 2 discs that I did sell off.
Evil Dead Elite kept for FF, got Book.
AOD, 2 disc LE and a copy of single disc LE since it was cheap.
Dawn of the Dead, sold both old versions when they were worth $, got divimax, box should get here today or tomorrow.
Christine, I'll take that to BB and get a new release cheap in the near future, maybe the SE :D
Soon to be Clerks X, not sure what to do with old disc, probably see Christine!
Faust, had Brazilian FF disc but got R1 for more extras. Ended up keeping the Brazil disc for different extras.
Silence of the Lambs, Criterion and MGM.
Halloween. Cri. laserdisc, 2 disc LE, single disc tv version (cuz of the pretty film cell :D )
....and since I brought up lasers.
Escape from NY. Kept the laser, sold old single disc, got SE.
    The Fog, stuck with laserdisc.
Frighteners, ld box, but grabbed a used dvd for $5 anyway.
Howling, kept laser despite SE dvd (a few things didn't make the jump including a quick nude shot in a deleted scene)
Sid and Nancy, laser has more shit the Criterion dvd.
Stuck with Predator 2 and Fear of a Black Hat (although FOABH laser sounds way better than the dvd and same video transfer :eek2: , nice job Columbia, the only major studio widescreen release in years that's not anamorphic :fuck: Good thing it's packed with extras)
