I'm sure many of you already know, but John has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate Cancer. To say that Buechlers work has impacted my life would be an understatement. So, being able to give something back to the guy whose creations made so many movies unmissable is the least I can do.

It doesn't matter of you donate a little or a lot. Every penny will help John and his family.

If you can't donate give the link a share on social media.

    Thanks people!

I honestly had not heard about it before now, but that truly sucks. :(

I'll put in a donation very soon...

RIP, I agree that Empire would not of been the studio it was without the fantastic work of John and his team.

I just wish the damn Empire documentary would get finished so I could see John in it. I only contributed to it 3½ years ago. o_O

RIP to the Buechs, whom I had the pleasure of meeting back in 2011! He was a legend in the field of practical FX, especially in the low budget arena, and his often times goofy-yet-goopy creations all had a very distinct style. And if you were watching a Full Moon/Empire production he worked on you could sometimes spot a painting of the guy himself in Renaissance garb in the background which was always a hilarious hidden joke.

There's a great behind the scenes from The Gingerdead Man where he's giving a tour of his shop while always holding up an oversized latex cigar like Groucho Marx. He made it for a giant sized Gingerdead Man. It may have been for a sequence that ultimately got cut but I like to think he made it just to make it.

    RIP Buechler.

    Oh, and, Fuck Cancer.
