i would guess that it is gonna be coming out this october or november i do hope they talk about the halloween 6 producers cut
I'm one of the people that's involved with this project (script supervisor, as well as some camera stuff), and ideally it should be out around this Halloween. Naturally there will be coverage of the original, but there's quite a lot of stuff on the sequels which hasn't really been discussed before. Particularly stuff on the oft maligned halloween 3, and talk of the H6 P-cut. Also shown will be stuff from the 25th anniversary convention in Pasadena back in 2003, but for the most part it will be a completely comprehensive feature on the Halloween franchise. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, I'll answer what I can.
very cool to hear so too bad anchor bay cant get the rights from miramax/dimension to release an official halloween 6 producer's cut dvd
Yes, I love Halloween 3 - it has more a John Carpenter look and feel than any films after it. It's a gorgeously shot film and I can see why Carpenter green-lit the film in the first place - it's such a retro story...almost Twilight Zone-like.
fango just gave us the extras it is indeed a 2 disc dvd 84 minute documentary -extended celebrity intervies -halloween 2 extended interviews -halloween 3 extended interviews -halloween 5 on set footage -halloween convention footage -halloween convention behind the scenes gallery -horrors hallowed grounds featurrette -fans of halloween featurette -convention panel footage on all halloween films, featuring 4-5 star ellie cornell and dean cundey -halloween location gallery -original artwork gallery and more
As much as i dig the film..Anchor Bay can kiss my ass on this one.Between this film and Evil Dead..it's just gotten old and has been for quite some time. They really need a new cash cow..
I will be buying this July 25th, but Anchor Bay is almost becoming like Media Blasters/Shriek Show with the delays of putting out a DVD. Case in point, Cemetary Man, it will be 9 months since CM was orginally supposed to be released on DVD.
I was on the fence about this one, but this pushed me over the edge. This is going to be mine for sure.
Anchor Bay has always had problems with keeping release dates. I remember in 1998 I had pre-ordered two VHS tapes from the Hammer Collection (The Mummy's Shroud and I think The Devil Rides Out) and they continually pushed back the release date for about 6 months. The Enigma of Casper Hauser was originally scheduled for Summer of 2000 but didn't actually get released until nearly two years later. There have been a lot of other cases over the years, but those are the example that immediately spring to mind on account that I was dying to get my hands on them.
DavisDVD has posted specs for the Divimax DVDs of Halloween 4 and 5, which will also be released on July 25th, along with the 25 Years of Terror documentary. YES! A Ellie Cornell/Danielle Harris commentary on Halloween 4 is just what I wanted. I'm guessing that Ellie isn't on the Halloween 5 track because her character dies very early in the film. Still, she should have done it anyway. At least Danielle returns for the part 5 commentary. I hope they include the TV spots and teaser trailers for Halloween 4. I'll be buying all three of these DVDs. Two months to go.
According to the official site, http://www.halloweenmovies.com , the Halloween 4 DiviMax DVD will have *two* commentary tracks. One with Ellie Cornell and Danielle Harris, the other with Screenwriter Alan McElroy.
Sweet News! I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever get replacements for 4 & 5...and if I did, whether or not they'd have new features. STOKED!!!
Sounds great, looks great - I'm sold. I'm especially looking forward to the material on Halloween 2 and 3 since past DVD releases have been devoid of supplements.
