Haha, I missed that the first time around. vampyr789 blew a load in his mailbox when he saw the DVD in there.
Another online shop failed me by saying they wouldn't ship until Nov. 3rd. Went to my local indie store today and of course they'd sold their 1 copy of each. BIG SIGH. Guess these go on the holiday wishlist. Dammit!
Got mine yesterday....have watched the movie but as far as extras have only seen my usual favorite Grindhouse Releasing trailers--MASSACRE MAFIA STYLE and of course, GONE WITH THE POPE!
I just finished the Spanish language/alternate score version. Very interesting!! More is explained verbally, with a little more detail. Especially with the killer's reason of choice on the final victim. In English, it was never explained or noticed by me before, despite being plain as day in one particular shot...what he wanted from her. There's also hardly any tongue-in-cheek dialog scenes at all, very straight faced. Even the "bad chop suey" scene...not a smirk. I truly liked the Spanish score, but I grew up on the US soundtrack, so it seemed so out of this world, yet whimsically charming. I am thankful that this version was included, a whole new experience. It's nice to get a few surprises out of an old staple. And don't even start me on the supplements!! It's so great to finally see some much overdue love for Dick Randall & Steve Minasian on a dvd release!!
Picked this up today, the Newbury Comics down the street from my place had two copies in stock...so I guess I will be watching it tomorrow night at some point, probably along with Bloody Moon (which I still can't believe they had on sale for $13.88!)...so I guess my Halloween is gonna consist of a whole lotta sleazy slashing with saws!
Shit, my Pieces order isn't showing as shipping from Amazon until November 10, along with Return to Sleepaway Camp. Dammit. Probably should have ordered it separately.
I lucked out, and even though Amazon. ca didn't ship out my copies until 0ct. 30th, I received both of them in the mail the next day on Halloween. What a sweet surprise to come home to. Needless to say, I watched both Pieces and The Beyond Halloween night, and loved both of them! Pieces was just crazy fun, and The Beyond had an awesome atmosphere and great gore.
I already had the AB version of The Beyond, but I picked up Pieces this weekend. Found it at a local outlet store..Music for a Song for $17.99.
If the stock exchange wasn't so big a difference I'd be all over these. I'm hoping it starts to climb back up.
Deep Discount shipped my copy of Pieces last Friday. Also got Bloody Moon and Sweet Sixteen in the same shipment.
Pieces came in from DvdPacific yesterday...can't wait to give it a spin! (would've last night but the steelers were dominating in the second half)
It's been a while since I've seen The Beyond, and to top it off I've only seen the cut version. Maybe it's time for a re-visit.
