Do we trust Full Moon though? I haven't followed them in a long time but I seem to remember a lot of their blu's being lackluster compared to international releases.

Tourist Trap is one of my all-time favorites but I just don't trust Full Moon anymore. Also not a fan of the newer artwork that looks more like Leatherface than Slausen. I'll wait for reviews before quadruple-dipping.

Why not just release the movie as it had been seen for decades the first time? When the whole "missing five minutes" thing happened I just ordered the German digibook with both cuts on it.

Same here. I'll bet this "new" Blu-ray will be a rip of the German disc too! CB did it before with the Mansion of the Doomed DVD...it was just a PAL-to-NTSC conversion from the UK DVD.

Video bitrate at only 22 Mbps, that's way to low.
And there are some nasty compression artifacts in those darker screenshots.

Well they almost did it lol. Hopefully someone else releases it (88Films?) with a beefed up bitrate for this century.

I don't think 88 Films even really deals with FM anymore. A lot of their old FM releases have now gone OOP.

Wicked-Vision Media have done some solid FM releases in Germany lately, so they possibly will.

But... the "uncut" scene screenshots from that above technical review make me wonder if they're not indeed just grabbed from the "uncut" German Blu-ray. They look almost DVD quality, and that's where they were sourced from when they re-edited it back together to release it in Germany.

Yeah, I would just go for the German release.

FM should just stop making their own Blu-ray releases.
Band can just go and fuck himself.

It's a shame Full Moon/Band owns Tourist Trap. I'd love to see any other company have a crack at a proper restoration and deluxe edition Bluray. How about some cast and crew interviews, Schmoeller's student film which inspired the movie, a making-of segment visiting filming locations, an isolated score or remastered soundtrack. Tourist Trap is just such a personal favorite I'd love to see it honored properly.

At least it's uncut, give it that.
