I Took in a half dozen films this year at the Toronto After Dark Film Fest and this one really stood out from the bunch.

It's about a 12 year old kid living with his serial killer brother. Amazingly filmed on only 8 grand, I would of believed them if they said it cost them 100 times as much. The event organizer promoted it perfectly calling it an after school special from hell. It was engaging, funny at times and very disturbing at others. All and all it worked very well. This is one you should really look out for IMO.

Saw this as well and totally agree. It was rather entertaining and a remarkable use of $8000. Some crazy gore.

I missed that one so I'll have to make note of it. I was only able to see 2 movies: The Last Days On Mars and Banshee Chapter. The Last Days On Mars was heavily inspired by Planet of the Vampires and I enjoyed it. Banshee Chapter was really good, IMO. It brought together the CIA MK-Ultra program, numbers stations, H. P. Lovecraft's From Beyond, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in a nice creepy way.

Hey AshM28, I tried to respond to your PM but your Inbox is full.

I totally thought Planet of the Vampires while watching Last Days as well, Cydeous. A great movie it was (Last Days).

    http://www.fangoria.com/new/big-brother-is-killing-you-award-winning-found-finds-distribution/

Fangoria has just announced that my production company The October People has acquired the rights to Found. Our film The Invoking played alongside it at many film festivals and we absolutely loved it. It works as a disturbing piece of horror as well as a love letter to the genre (the main character is a horror loving kid growing up in the video store days of the early 90s). We're currently working with the filmmakers on getting the film as wide a release as possible. More news on that front will be coming very soon.

I found someone on Craigslist selling a dvd of this but I can't find any information about this actually being released yet. In the ad he claims it's signed by cast and crew and has a pic of it. Any insight?

The production team made a limited run of DVDs that they were selling themselves before the film was acquired for distribution. They are no longer selling them and the disks do not feature the extensive behind-the-scenes that will appear on the wide release later this year, but they are legit.

Saw it earlier this year and loved it. Although it suffers from some less than stellar acting (mainly from the parents) the two lead kids are pretty damn good and it's surprisingly effective.

    Great ending as well.

I'll be picking up a copy.

Well, banned in Australia as one would expect.

    http://www.refused-classification.com/censorship/films/found-2012.html

Anyways, after reading it was banned here .... I did what most horror loving fans would do. Source the movie elsewhere.

Loved it, it was original and raw. I cannot believe that I just read in this thread it was done on an $8000 budget. Amazing work for that kind of money. From the opening animated credits to the haunting final image before the credits this movie is a lesson in how to create something special from no budget. Well done, this movie deserves to be seen.

Yeah, the ending was good! Plus the film within the film was pretty cool too!

I saw Found last night, and it was great! :)
Most modern independent films sucks, but this is one of those rare ones that REALLY delivers the goods.
The cinematography was great, even though some of the darker scenes could have been better lit.
The movie moves at a very slow pace, but it´s kinda hypnotic, in a way that many 70:s classics like Phantasm was.
Some of the acting is mediocre, but the actors who played the brothers did a VERY good job.
It´s very brutal, and not something that would have gone over well with MPAA ;)
Can´t believe this only cost $8000 to make!

About "Headless", the short in the film was fun, but they better put some kind of story in the feature-lenght version.
Cause if it´s only non-stop gore for 90 minutes, and nothing else, it will get boring pretty damn fast.
Non-stop gore was fun when I was 13-15, but I kinda demand a bit more these days.
Most Independent gorefilms, especially like the German ones, bore me to death.
But we´ll see what happens to "Headless".

Found begins a limited theatrical run at the Arena Cinema in Hollywood on August 15th (a week from Friday). The same day it will be available to view on VOD and iTunes.
