I almost made a post about another new bigfoot special, Bigfoot: A Definitive Guide, not so much because of the content (although it does propose an interesting explanation that is still highly unlikely but interesting none the less), but for the stunning discovery of a young female in the research community, Dr. Anna Nekaris, long thought an impossibility by the scientific community, because she's pretty hot. :sperm:

Love Bigfoot docs like these! When I was little these kinds of Discovery Channel specials would scare me more than any horror film.

I'm gonna wait until they re-run tonight's ep in July. I like to record series, and/or multi-series docs in the order they were aired. Seeing as tonight is just a sneak peek, looks like the final episode, I'll wait. I'll watch it, though. This series better be damn good. Let's see these researchers actually get something on video, for once. Damn, 'squatch, he's so fuckin' elusive.

Never seen it but here is a spoiler....they will not deliver a bigfoot. They will deliver night vision camera work and one to two overweight people saying "what was that, did you hear that"

It didn't seem any different than any of the other bigfoot shit out there, but it kept me entertained enough to finish watching it.

I imagine the size of the droppings must be considerable.

I don't watch shit like this any more. All these shows are the same; they never find anything approaching definitive proof. As much as I love monsters and want there to be real ones in the world, there just aren't. There is no Bigfoot; there is no Nessie. They can't even make good fictional movies about these iconic critters (I avoid Syfy original crap).

They will never find anything because there there is nothing to find. The whole show is a waste of time. I rather watch a documentary on actual apes.

Been watching this on Animal Planet Canada, since we finally got it a few weeks back.
I'm a huge fan of cryptozoology and all things Bigfoot in particular, but boy does this show suck.
Now I never assumed that the BFRO was composed of a real, 'scientific' team with credentials to actually successfully perform this type of investigation, but I never thought they would turn out to be a semi-comedic bunch of backwood hicks.
One of them is named Bobo and actually looks like Bigfoot, Jesus, where is Clem and Rosco. Their methods are also laughable, a fat guy bolts into the woods in the dead of night chasing after a bi-pedal figure? They organize a posse including children to cross the woods and flush the elusive beast out. If the goal was to make the BFRO team look like buffoons and entertain in a sort of..Good Lord, what are they doing now sort of way then it's all good I guess. Really overall, it's a disappointment.
Also, they talk about stuff like it's proven fact; 'The Bigfoot are known to travel along power line routes', 'The Bigfoot reside in crocodile dens in the Everglades'...how the fuck would they know and why not put a stationary camera in the croc dens then?
I e-mailed the BFRO about an incident from last summer, about six months ago, I'm now happy I did not reveal the location. It would appear that money, not science, is their main motivation.

I have a University degree in Anthropology and a few years ago would have shared your skepticism, however an incident in the mountainous, deep woods last summer changed my outlook permanently and was enough to put me off wilderness hiking for several months afterwards.
Will return to the area, hopefully this summer, for a nocturnal hike to see if anything turns up. It was at the very least fascinating, and more than a bit unnerving.

Is this the show that they make fun of on 'The Soup' every week, or was that 'Sasquath-somethingelse'?
Wait, Bobo, this is the one from The Soup!
So having only seen tiny clips being made fun of I still feel safe saying... "the show sucks". What was with that finale? The show must not take itself serious, cuz
when they found a bigfoot it was such an obvious bad man in suit it couldn't be trying to pass as real, could it? I've seen better costumes in Asylum and Troma movies!

Anthropophagus, please share some details of your encounter. I'm a lifelong Bigfoot fan who's very interested to hear what happened.

I wouldn't bet my 401k that sasquatch is real. But I think it's premature to say that we definitively know that the creature is a myth. It's important to note that gorillas were considered to be mythical well into the 1800s. And the mountain gorilla was considered a myth until 1902.

As many of you have pointed out, the BFRO's scientific credentials are pretty laughable. But they're the only game in town. There aren't any actual scientists devoting full-time attention to thoroughly research this question. I think that's a shame. With modern thermal imaging technology and an all-out, ongoing effort in hotbed areas I think they could pretty quickly research this phenomenon a lot more thoroughly than anyone has managed so far. Hunting for any rare creature in a scattershot manner isn't likely to yield results.

I'm a fairly cynical middle-aged guy. I can honestly say that the authentication of sasquatch would do a lot to make me feel like anything is still possible in this world.
