As I said in my review for THE NESTING, I love me them titles from the eighties. While there's too many to list for this thread if we're just talking about eighties titles in general, if we narrow it to two word movies that start with "The", then we're in business. So from the list, pick your favorite, then maybe list other titles from the eighties you like the most in the thread itself. This thread is for the title only, not the merit of the actual film itself. Also, remakes like The Thing, The Fly, The Blob were not included since the title originated in another decade.
I voted for The Burning, but this thread got me thinking about The Kindred, a minor classic if ever there was one... and no prospect of it ever surfacing on DVD which is a real shame.
I too voted The Burning, but if I'm going on just the name itself it's easily THE BOOOOOOGENS!!!!
Error on my part, although The Pit is so awesome it does deserve two spots. I've replaced one of them with "The Slayer".
My vote goes for The Howling. I had to sneak into the theater to see this because I was underage at the time. Very fond memories.
Too many good choices but I had to go with "Other" for: The Funhouse (1981) Honorable mention: The Attic (1980 - though some sources say 1979)
Since we've been instructed to vote on the title and not the film itself, I had to go with THE BOOGENS because a) it makes no sense, and b) it always made me laugh because I'm incredibly mature.
The Howling title always intrigued me as a kid. Was it a sound, a small werewolf, some sort of ritual?
I've never seen it but went with The Gate. Not sure why but I've always thought that title is creepy. Brings to mind a cemetery gate or the gates of hell, maybe something designed to keep someone out or even locked in? So many possibilities and none of them pleasant. Close second for The Pit. Ha ha Love that title. The Pit of Despair.
Ahem... The Video Dead Don't think I can think of any other title that sort of gets the whole general feel of the 80s like that one does.
