I liked the 1st and 2nd and skipped 3 and 4. Just saw the 5th one in 2D and I wish I saw it in 3D. I agree with spawningblue, it's up there with Piranha 3d. Worth the price of a 3D ticket.
I would probably have to go with the second, but the fifth one is absolutely fantastic! The first is also great, and the third and fourth are ok.
Part two, by a fair margin. I like four and five quite a bit, too, for their no-nonsense approach. Three is easily my least favorite, despite having some of the best deaths, and the series has gotten so far away from the first film I almost can't compare it to it's sequels.
I'd probably have to say 1,3,2 and I couldn't even get through 4 it was so bland. Have yet to see 5 yet, kind of hestitant since part 4 was so abysmal.
That's the same order I would put the series in, and as well I hated part 4! Go see part 5, it is amazing, possibly my favourite in the series, definitely up there either way.
That's cause Part4 had no Tony Todd, I think that's the secret to this series. The more Todd you have the better the movie & Part 5 had lots of Todd & Part 4 had no Todd. lol
I won't even watch Part 3, so Tony Todd or no, I doubt he's the secret to what makes these movies work. I've only seen the first movie, which I thought was pretty good. But those reviews for part 5 are interesting. If I actually sit through parts 1 and 2 and find out I enjoy part 5 more, it'll be worth sitting through them.
I recently watched 3 and The "Final" Destination, thought 3 was great, had a really good atmosphere and actually felt the most horror of the 4 (I'm still yet to see 5). But TFD was awful, too short, poor acting (not that the previous films had great acting but it was better than this) and the 3D aspect was poorly executed. I'd rank them like this right now: 3 1 2 TFD
