Lets hope they found mostof the original negative for the directors cut and only a small part comes from other sources.

The rights to Morgan Creek titles seems to lie with Warner Bros still in Europe. Seems its only in the US that Warner no Longer own the rights.

So i dout we will see a release outside of the US just like with Nightbreed.

The Deleted Prologue is the Fr. Karras in the Morgue scene.

I've seen a few posts on blu ray.com. I won't say I'm not disappointed at the Directors Cut being basically the Theatrical with Dourifs origibal scenes cut in. The original opening on disc 1 sound terrific but if it's in black & white I can understand them not including it in the new cut.

Hopefully someone like Spicediver will get hold of this new footage and do a new cut (his original Legion Fan Edit is great! And even includes the decapitated head shot!)

Even so. I love EIII and I'll be happy to watch the new cut.

If anyone wants the Legion cut by Spicediver it's available at the usual torrent sites - and is legal to own if you already have a copy of the original film. BTW, Dourifs introduced this cut at a con, so its of great quality!

I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my pre-order and picking it up when it's on sale or something. This was my most anticipated release this year, but it sounds like a bit of a disaster... even if SF put in as much effort as they could.

Yeah I'm really surprised. I thought they'd at least do a top job with the theatrical cut and fix the sound. Don't blame you for wanting to wait on it for now.

Still a great release to me for all the extra's and the new 2k scan of the theatrical cut. Shame the audio stems seem lost to remix a new soundtrack.

Its not even Scream Factory's fault. Morgan Creek are a bunch of shit stains! Regardless, seeing as the footage from the VHS tapes is pretty shoddy, I'd of thought they'd of incorporated the black and white opening they had to hand and included it as part of the Director's Cut. If it's a composite using shoddy footage I'd of rather the opening be b&w as opposed to the theatrical footage.

Interesting. An earlier review, said that there was little activity in the surround channels, and it basically felt like mono.
But "why so blu?", says there is plenty of activity in the surround field o_O

Well, as I usually do, before I double dip, I downloaded a rip of the new disc, to sample the new transfer.
And it's one hell of an improvement. Much sharper and better colors.
The old disc almost looks like a DVD in comparison.

Another disc on my "must buy" list!

Got mine yesterday and the new 2K scan is a thing of beauty puts the Warner BD to shame. The deleted prologue with the fall down the steps and then it cuts to Father Karas in the morgue was interesting but i can see why it was cut.
