Fuck it I'll see it.
Yeah, I think the HD-DVD is still the only physical HD release that has the longest cut of the film. Both the Canadian & German Blu-rays run a good 2+ minutes shorter than the US Unrated DVD (and are missing Crystal Lowe's death) — so I would assume both of those are just the R-Rated cuts.
The Swedish DVD sounds like it might have the different Euro cut, so if you know the exact PAL running time of that release you can convert it to NTSC and compare to the other cuts.
Looks kind of like an "in name only" "remake.
I thought it looked ok, I'm up for it.
I still haven't seen the original movie. The only thing I remember about the remake is the good casting with hot and then upcoming actresses. And the one vomit scene. I think she had a good shower scene as well.
I'll probably see this remake when it's on a premium channel next year.

Correction. I think I started the original some time ago but stopped. I was either tired or wanted to wait till the season, I can't remember. But I do remember a dirty scene with Margot Kidder on the phone. That was around where I stopped watching. I only remember her as Lois Lane so that was pretty striking. Although I think she has a nude scene in Sisters but I can't remember that movie. I have it on my list to watch again one day.
Rated PG-13 for violence, terror, thematic content involving sexual assault, language, sexual material and drinking.
Booooooooo this man!!
The last remake was rated R and still felt kind of tame. So this is a bit of a step back.
Fuck that nonsense!!!!! If it gets great reviews and is noted as being genuinely scary, then I'll give it a go, but if it's tepid crap for the youth market, which is what I expect, then it can go and jump.
Kind of a slap in the face to true horror fans. I guess they're just marketing this in another direction.
It didn't even cross my mind this might be PG-13...
This looks like pandering social justice nonsense. And rated PG-13? I think I'd rather watch Juno or The Golden Girls.

You couldn't pay me to watch this shit, hope it fucking bombs.
"movie needed to be available to a younger female audience because the subject matter is timely."
Fuck this shit. I hate how fucking PC everything is today.
You're making a horror movie involving killing sorority girls. If you're so concerned with the God damn "subject matter" and it's timing then make another fucking movie.
Imagine the 1974 version re-released in the theaters today.
The phone calls from Billy, would make the feminazis heads explode
That is fucking fantastic!
I love that old SNDN photo.
