Too bad that Zombie release don’t include a UHD disc.
Sorry to say it , but that would be the only reason I would consider upgrading this title again.
I don't think many of the indie studios even have the rights to release this stuff on UHD, you need a separate license.
Thus far, the only UHD discs that have come out (for the most part) have been from the major studios, not the licensee.
Yeah, and with no region-locking for UHD, I suspect studios are wanting tippy-top money for those licenses, if they're willing to license them at all.
Dead & Buried news:
I suspect he's referring to the restoration being done in 4K, not that it will be released on the 4K UHD format.
I mean it just sounds like he's saying the print will look really nice mastered in 4k, especially if it's coming from the OCN. Nothing about his comment suggests or hints at a UHD release, so I don't seen why there should be any confusion.
I think so, too, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen people assume the term "4K Blu-Ray" means UHD.
Oh that I don't doubt. I hate the internet morons that just jump straight to conclusions and end up creating false facts based on misinterpreted comments. It happens all too often these days, especially when it comes to rumours on upcoming movies.
They found the negatives? Wow. So Dead & Buried is getting a 4K remaster, Maniac, Zombie, City of the Living Dead, The Fog, Escape From New York, Prince of Darkness, They Live.
This fall is gonna kill me. But I love it. Bring it on.
Anyone notice on Amazon the three different lenticular covers for Zombi all have different prices? What gives?
Anyone out there feel the need to own all three?!?
I would like to own all three but I only placed a pre-order for the eye piercing cover.
Let’s hope that he didn’t fuck up the new transfer, with the same milky black levels and ugly teal colors, as the BD transfer.
I went classic zombie face. That’s all I need.
Someone on blu-ray.com posted some caps from the new Zombie disc here. I wasn't planning on buying this since I was pretty happy with the previous Arrow release but now I kind of want to get this one...
^Oh dear god. Those screen caps look really impressive.
Got my copy today!
But note, the film starts literally at the first frame of the film and the opening credits font has been changed again. This time, matching the font from the US trailer/TV spots.
Well, another edition to add to my Zombie collection. Wish they added a UHD disc to the package. But they probably hold on to that for another year or two
Same - the only DVD I got rid of was the Blue Underground one with the blue and orange cover - the blood looked way to anemic to my eyes. I ordered the "Splinter" cover - when I first saw the movie nobody believed me when I described that scene.
I still have the first Anchor Bay release...I kinda dig how some of the make up effects still look grungy.
