I like that the artwork was changed up a little.

Yeah, I just noticed that it’s an E Sciotti painting :)

    I love his artwork!

Got his on pre-order and have heard nothing but praises about the transfer this past week from a few folks who contributed to the special features - Stephen Thrower, Art Ettinger - so my excitement for this new BU 4k restoration has increased ten-fold!

Mmm, I like the screens for the 2009 release just fine. I already can change the hue on my tv whichever way.

Apart from a more natural colour palette, the texture easily looks better in the new release based on those comparisons. That, and the copious supplementary features, makes this an easy purchase for me. I've come to really love New York Ripper for the sleaze epic that it is.

Yeah, and now we got proper filmgrain, compared to the typical "LVR" scanner noise (though not as heavy as usual) on the old release.

I always thought of Blue Underground as a quality-minded label despite some flawed releases here and there. Their early work was never reference-quality but they seemed to improve overall over time and despite the couple of years where it seemed like they were on vacation, they seem to be picking up again. I just wonder what the hell happened to Dead & Buried. It had been penciled in for last September but has mysteriously disappeared with no update in sight. Come on, Bill.

It's a hell of an improvement over the old BU Blu-ray, just based off those few comparisons at the bottom of the review.

Not a fan of the added teal (and orange - can't do without that...) to some shots (well, the subway car with Faye) but I can't wait to get this release.
