This story just broke on Saturday Nightmares on Blog TV. Deadpit.com The project leader is Mike Felsher who worked on PUMPKINHEAD, THE MONSTER SQUAD, etc.
Cool, cool. Good ole' Michael "slipcase" Felsher. I'm a huge Dead Pit fan (even resurrected the thread about'em here recently). I listened in to last week's Saturday Nightmare segment, with the fully uncut Lou Perryman call in, but I didn't wanna catch this one, as I often don't. I just mainly download the newest show every Friday, and always catch they're YouTube stuff (Deadpit on The Road, Diary of the Deadpit and Creepy Kentuckian's Creepy Crappy Movie Reviews, ect), but I sometimes tune in. The choppy nature of the video feed and the fact that I'm not a signed up member so I can't post in the chat forum makes me miss it a lot, even though I know signing up is free, I simply don't really care. Anyway that's awesome news! I feel Blood Diner is a pretty bad and ridiculous horror/comedy or gore comedy, but I rented it a lot during my middle school mid and late '90s teenage years for some laughs. I'll definately snatch it up once it becoems available later on this year or next, as I'm a slasher and general '80s horror completeist. Awesome news.
Cool, but I'm not sure I'd rebuy it. I'd be interested in seeing what the bonus features will actually be first. The German DVD looks superb with the bitrate maxed on a dual-layer. They'll have a tough time beating that transfer.
Sweet, super sweet Everyone once in a while, they'll get behind a movie I'm not really into at all (for example Madman from 1981, which is a huge shit-fest if anyone asks me), but I have a sudden urge to revisit this one, even though I know it's not really that good. It is, however, good dumb fun and consistantly entertaining. Can't wait to hear about it from next week's show and the MySpace mini show how it'll all come along.
Am I the only one who thinks this movie is godawful? Shit, I can't even enjoy this movie for its CAMP value. It's just BAD. Definite pass. ~Matt
I dunno. I'd give it 5/10. I don't own it yet so I'll be getting this. I just find it kind of silly and dumb. But lotsa grue and that foolish creature the brothers summon. Lightning strikes!
I don't have the German disc and I am a fan of this, so this will be a rare occassion these days where I actually buy a DVD I'm interested in.
It does kinda suck indeed. I have a clone of the Widescreen German DVD on a single layer and it still looks superb. No need to double dip here, not that I will ever watch this flick again anyway.
One of my guilty pleasures, a nice gore-tastic torture and cannibalism comedy that is like an early comical version of "Hostel".
ridiculously pumped for this! gonna stop by tutman's for a veggie burger on my way to pick this one up...
It's pretty awful, but I have to admit, there were moments where I - in spite of myself - couldn't help but laugh. My favourite scene is the one where the naked karate chick with the big bush gets a stalactite through the top of her skull... I've shown that particularly scene to a couple of mates, and the reaction was a mixture of laughter and feeling embarrassed for the actress. I will probably not get the DVD, though... I didn't like it THAT much.
