https://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/classics/blacula-complete-collection The release date is 10/27/14. Coming from Eureka Classics (UK). Urban action and fatal attraction give rise to a groove from beyond the grave in this funkadelic, fangadelic Soul Cinema sensation! The eternally cool William Marshall puts a fresh spin on the age-old legend of the vampire, condemned to wander the earth with an insatiable lust for blood. In 1780, African Prince Mamuwalde (Marshall) pays a visit to Count Dracula in Transylvania, seeking his support in ending the slave trade. Instead, the evil count curses his noble guest and transforms him into a vampire! Released from his coffin nearly two centuries later by a pair of luckless decorators, Mamuwalde emerges as “Blacula,” one cool, dressed to kill, dude strollin’ the streets of L.A. on a nightly quest for human blood and fine women! In Scream, Blacula, Scream Blacula lives, and only the legendary Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) has the power to deep-six his reign of terror. William Marshall returns as the noble African prince turned bloodthirsty fiend in this hair-raising sequel to the terrifying hit Blacula! This time, it’s voodoo power versus vampire fury when Willis (Richard Lawson), the son of the late high priestess, seeks revenge on the cultists who have chosen his foster sister Lisa (Grier) as their new leader. Hoping to curse Lisa, Willis unwittingly resurrects Blacula’s earthly remains and lets loose the Prince of Darkness and his freaked-out army of the undead! Brand new 1080p high-definition transfer • Progressive DVD encodes • Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing • Trailers for both films • New and exclusive introduction to the films by critic and author Kim Newman • 32-page booklet featuring new writing by Josiah Howard, author of Blaxploitation Cinema: The Essential Reference Guide; reprints of original Blacula ephemera; and archival images
So what is this? A blu ray? A DVD? Both? Not much supplements, but I'd love to pick it up if A) it's BD (no PAL speedup, thanks) B) the price is reasonable
Nice! I was actually just going to buy the old double feature DVD just the other day, but this is great news instead!
I spoke too soon. Amazon UK now has it up for pre-order and their price is 17.99 pounds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blacula-Com...e=UTF8&qid=1408482067&sr=1-6&keywords=blacula 10.99 pounds is probably a pre-order sale price only offered by Eureka.
I pre-ordered it anyway. Hopefully it will drop. If it ends up being around $20 CAD, then that's a price I'm willing to pay.
The price just went down to 11.63 pounds on Amazon UK. I pre-ordered tonight. Ended up being 12.77 pounds with shipping.
excellent. i'll just keep an eye on my pre-order. it hasn't dropped yet, but that often takes a day or so.
Mine just dropped to £9.69. The prices in Amazon.co.uk always show a bit higer at first but then they drop when I'm ready to click and buy. Why is that? It doesn't happen with Amazon.com prices. Guess that happens with int'l orders.
It's because it subtracts the VAT (Value Added Tax) on the final order page. It doesn't apply for orders shipped out of the country, so it's subtracted.
Then in UK it's mandatory to show any price with the VAT included already or it's likely only a rule in amazon.co.uk?
It does show it with the VAT included. It only lowers when you go click through the checkout. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_left_ac?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200792760

On that note, I will probably cancel my UK pre-order and wait until the Scream Factory release next year. I would rather wait for comparisons of the two releases than potentially double dip.
My copy arrived direct from Eureka today, both transfers are fantastic. The booklet is really well produced and the cover has reversible artwork too. Amazing for £12.14
