Dude, I heard about the Sebastians being Born Again! I thought it was bogus info! But I guess they aren't budging! grrrr!!!!!!!
how can two gifted people who made such good rare movies want to change their minds? what does born again have to do with these wonderful films?!!!
No Gator Bait!!! WAH!!!!!!!!!!
I'm rather fond of "Gangster Rock" from GRADUATION DAY.
Chomp, I like your avatar. I always thought Emilio was hotter than Charlie.
Graduation Day rocks! That was the band that played when Linnea Quigley was getting chased?
I always thought the song (from the movie with the same title) "Happy Birthday to Me" by Syreeta was both beautiful yet eerie.
I'm gonna have to go with NEW YEAR'S EVIL (1980). they play the song so many times during the film that you can't ever get it out of your head.
I also like the "Chop Up Your Mother" song from ALONE IN THE DARK (1982), and special mention to the original end title song from HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME (1981). It always gives me a creepy vibe.
One of my favorite 80s slashers:
Psuedo Echo - His Eyes
from Friday The 13th: A New Beginning
"Goin' To A Showdown" by Don Armando's 2nd Ave Rhumba Band (From "Maniac")
Don't have a link to it, but I found it someone's blog a while back.
Also, that "Funky Town" ripoff from "Pieces".
More Prom Night from The Moon and Wildman!
Ah,you beat me to it.The APRIL FOOL'S DAY song always cracks me up.
I'll get to hear the HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME song in the theater Friday night. The film is playing on a double feature with ALICE,SWEET ALICE at the Retrofantasma Fest in Durham N.C. They are running the last 35mm archive print of BIRTHDAY.
The album that that song comes from, Autumnal Park, is fantastic! Love Pseudo Echo...their later stuff can't compete.
Yeah, that'd be my choice.
Ok, not really a slasher, but Incubus got me totally hooked on FM, thanks to Lost & Found:
second or third for prom night here SAMPLED by Gino Soccio is what my changes file says on the prom night soundtrack
Here's a cool "Happy Birthday To Me" video someone did (one of you guys?)
It's funny how there was actually a time when horror movies had adult contemporary-style theme songs (HBTM, Prom Night, Eyes Of Laura Mars, The Fan, The Attic.) Can't say I'm surprised the trend was short-lived but how on earth did a trend like that begin in the first place? Did it start with Carrie?
Okay, I know this isn't a slasher but thought I'd put this song in here anyway! LOL
For such a well-known movie, this song is too underrated!
Oh yes, the trend was TOO short-lived! I want the trend back! LOL
"Don Armando's 2nd Avenue Rhumba Band - Goin' to a Showdown" from Manaic.
Also of note, and not many people know, but this was originally a song by Aural Exciters, and the original version sounds slightly different. You can listen to it here: http://www.last.fm/music/Aural+Exciters
