The 90's may not have brought us the quality of horror we were blessed with in the 60's, 70's and 80's, but it did bring us one enduring pop culture treasure: The Rap Theme. The first notable horror movie rap song that I could remember was the title track from THE MONSTER SQUAD in 1987, but many would say the rap theme hit its prime in the 90's with MANIAC COP 2, TALES FROM THE HOOD and the like. A few selections here are only horror by periphery (ADDAMS FAMILY, TEEN WITCH), but they certainly embody the spirit of this movement, so they're included. Plus, in the TEEN WITCH clip, the girls mention a guy named "Rhett" as being cute. Good taste, they have. In the pursuit of fairness, I've included only one song from TALES FROM THE HOOD, but it has an entire soundtrack filled with legitimately good gangsta rap written for the film. Lastly, while I can't include it since it wasn't part of a film (or its marketing, like the CHILD'S PLAY clip), DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Nightmare on My Street" is a pretty legendary track all its own. That's my piece So now it's time to put a vote to the sickest rhyme. I'm from Horror Digi and I'm here to say horror movie raps that shit is cray.
Listening to it, it doesn't seem to have any reference to the actual film, so I don't think it should count. I've only included songs either rapped in the film itself by the characters, or written specifically about the film, characters or plot. Good track though, for sure. Massive Attack - "I Against I"
Stupid 80's rap was fun... but beyond that I hate rap. Teen Witch - "Top That!" best eva' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksBE53CIT8E
 I voted for "Top That". But when I saw this thread, I had fully intended to vote for the "Cheerleader Camp" rap.
Damn, Rhett! When I saw the thread topic, Nightmare on My Street immediately came to mind. I LOVE that song and actually bought the 12" single 20-something years ago when I was but a wee lad but as it's not an actual movie song, I can't vote for it! To make it worse, I don't know most of the songs on the list so I can't vote for ANY of them! So my vote will have to go to the disqualified Nightmare on My Street. Sorry!
I'm gonna slash and gash Cut another hole in your ass Spill blood on the walls and play tennis with your balls If the phone rings Don't answer the call I'm gonna slit your throat, fuck you like a goat Peel your foreskin off and make a Winter coat PEACE
Good call on that, I knew I was forgetting a slasher rap. Added to the poll. The best song Leif Garrett ever did. +1 for the video ending on a random shot of Buck Flower.
Haha this one is great, I watched this for the first time last year and had no recollection of this rap ending. Another reminder to always watch the credits. Added.
Thank you! And ye shall receive  Definitely worth a watch, as the cast & crew even get in on the jam.
Yeah, it's great. For all the selections in the voting list you're able to click on each for a YouTube link.
Horror and hip hop do not combine without cheese. It's impossible. I voted for "The Crypt Jam" because the Crypt Keeper fits into a rap song better than Freddy. I'm surprised I'm the only one who voted for it. For a while, it was hard to find on YouTube. Now, not so much. I made a YouTube video joke on "Top That," where I loop the "funky" dancing and play clips of songs I thought looked funny with them "hip"ly dancing to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH_3vznTFgk Ignore the 30 seconds looping of the intro to "Top That." I don't know why I let that play so long.
