To go along with our Franchise Harvest for the CHILDREN OF THE CORN series this October Madness, it's time to talk all things maize. The series is 9 films strong, including GENESIS which came out last month. Will it be the original, the remake, or is it a corn sequel that makes you pop most?
Easily the first one, because it works so well even with its faults. I've never been a big fan of the sequels, although II is pretty decent.
Gee, I had no idea there were so many of them. I've only seen the first one but wasn't a fan as I had read King's story first and from what I remember, the original story seemed to pack a more powerful punch at the end. Maybe I should give it another try.
Which part is it where the old lady in her wheelchair goes flying through the plate glass window? Kinda funny!
LOL, actually that does happen in COTC II. But most people hate that one so much you'd be better off re-watching Gremlins!
The one thing that hurts the original, is the HORRIBLE optical FX at the end. You can tell it was a rush job. I also kinda found part 3 to be pretty entertaining in a shlocky way The "Godzilla" ending is fun
I've only watched the first film. I saw it when it came out theatrically and then recently on blu-ray. It's not a very good film and it's surprising that it spawned so many sequels.
COTC II is so damn funny I don't know how anyone doesn't like that film. It's not good but it is bloody funny. I was in fits from watching that scene  I chose COTC 3 though because I loved the effects in that one. Made for an entertaining and fairly well made film.
haven't watched revelation, remake, or genesis yet, but i can confidently say that part IV, The Gathering, is my favorite. Part 1 has the benefit of being the first, and part III is pretty amazingly entertaining, but in complete terms of quality, the fourth is by far the best. it's a standalone film made with skill, with decent story and acting. Easily the best.
The only one I can tolerate is Revelation. To me, this is the most unlikely series to have so many sequels, since the original not only stinks, but leaves nothing worth craving.
Really? For me that one was easily the worst next to part 6. I couldn't even sit through the whole thing properly.
