Yeah, The Hitchhiker is full of those kinds of moments. I of course also just loved her as a character- she's a pill but she's also a boss. Treating her male nightcap like Jan Levensen treated Michael Scott, but without a splinter of shame.

    And then it starts snowing...

    Why not?

I think he went to Scottsdale to visit someone's sister.

Yeah, I might end up pulling the trigger on this one as well. Wasn't interested at first, as I'm not a big Wes Craven fan, and the last time I saw Hills was in the 80s. I'm actually think it was a late night over-the-air broadcast no less, meaning heavily edited with tons of commercials. But I just watched it on The Movie Channel last week, and really dug it. It's a bit slow and average at first, but the last 30 minutes seriously ramp up.

I'm generally done with pre-ordering unless a ridiculously low price appears. But I pulled the trigger on this one despite Amazon's $27.99 price. I've always liked it, it's always looked crappy, and Arrow USA's prices never seem to drop to my sweet spot. I look forward to watching this soon.

I wasn't initially going to purchase this either but I saw it for $21.00 on Amazon.UK so I went ahead.

Hills was an easy pass for me. Way too bland for my liking. I have been meaning to check out the remake again though.

You know..I used to like you...:D;). The remake is quite good but the original is one of Craven's all time best films, IMO.

Haha, I've lost a lot of friends this way :p

I've found I'm not too fond of a lot of Craven's work.

I still love ya bro. A lot of people don't care for his work. Craven was odd in the sense that when he was on his game. he made some damn good movies and then there are some stinkers.

    Thanks man! :D

Craven's work is kind of the same as how I feel about Tobe Hooper, where I feel like I only enjoy a select few films and nothing much else. Though with Craven I think he has a few more hits than Hooper.

Boy..we are simpatico bud. Hooper has a few good films and the rest..blah!! I would agree. Craven has had more hits but you hit it on the head. Both have either ran hot or cold during their careers.

But he also ran into a lot more studio trouble, creative interference, and censorship than almost any other horror director. It's not really fair placing all the blame on him most of the time.

Although, frankly, if his 2 most compromised films are Swamp Thing and Deadly Friend, I say- big fat hairy deal. Those films are great.
