So happy that The Last Starfighter is getting a 4K scan.

The old HD transfer, used on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, was mediocre. The Blu-Ray even got more DNR added to the transfer.

The Last Starfighter is one of my 80's favorites as a kid, so this is great news that Arrow is releasing it. I can vividly remember catching it in the theater when I was about 9 years old.

I've never seen The Last Star fighter but it's the only title this month that would interest me. I've seen a few reviews on YouTube and it looks fun. Not sure I need to own it though.
Arrow has definitely not been giving me much to get excited about lately.

Arrow's really helping me saving money lately, which comes in handy so I can spend it on other labels!

Yeah, if this had been any other month, I'd probably have went, "oh well, nothing for me this month." But this is October. I'd expected some classic or obscure retro horror. The last Arrow release I got was Blood Tide, which shows Arrow is still capable of finding and dusting off such material (it looks and sounds gorgeous too). Obviously, Blood Tide is strictly obscure retro and not a rediscovered classic (though still fun for beefcake Martin Kove and a monster with a bad case of camera shyness), but something of this caliber would have made for a most welcome release just in time for Halloween. I know the pandemic may make locating materials and producing releases more difficult, but Scream Factory still managed to put together an impressive line-up, and I'm hopeful Severin and Vinegar Syndrome will do the same.

I could be wrong but it does feel like Arrow is consciously moving away from horror.

I’ve noticed a more 90s oriented feel from s number of labels.

Arrow is moving into a more mainstream direction. A lot less horror and cult titles. Emphasis on films from the 90's up to the present. Lots of recent indie stuff too that just doesn't appeal to me at all. Arrow was my favorite label for years, not so much anymore.

Given their focus on mainstream Universal movies, I feel like it's a matter of time before they do Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, given Arrow's UK homebase.

Fingers crossed they will have some more horror titles on their roster soon.

It is a surprise they have no horror titles for October.

God, I hope they're not using Pitch Black as a way to test interest for 4k release. Can't imagine that title selling well ever.

I fear they are. It’s not a movie I need and not one particularly well suited to show off 4K. There’s a million catalogue titles I would have bought in a minute from them.

It's seems foolish of them to think this would be worth it when compared to other titles. I never hear Pitch Black ever mentioned by anyone...ever lol. I seem to remember it being pretty disposable.
