I guess most of us have enough to watch in the meantime.

Besides, I'd rather they delay to iron out whatever needs to be ironed out than to have a product on time but lacking.

Saw that earlier and I’m so glad now that I don’t have to import it.

    NEW US/CA TITLE: Audition (Blu-ray)

Miike twists and turns us through delirious editing and shocking visuals for one of the most depraved nightmares of all time!

    Release date: February 12

One of the most shocking J-horror films ever made, Audition exploded onto the festival circuit at the turn of the century to a chorus of awards and praise. The film would catapult Miike to the international scene and pave the way for such other genre delights as Ichii the Killer and The Happiness of the Katakuris.

Recent widower Shigeharu Aoyama is advised by his son to find a new wife, so he seeks the advice of a colleague having been out of the dating scene for many years. They take advantage of their position in a film company by staging an audition to find the perfect woman. Interviewing a series of women, Shigeharu becomes enchanted by Asami, a quiet, 24-year-old woman, who is immediately responsive to his charms. But soon things take a very dark and twisted turn as we find that Asami isn’t what she seems to be…

Pulling the audience into a story that will lead to one of the most harrowing climaxes in cinema history, Miike twists and turns us through delirious editing and shocking visuals for one of the most depraved nightmares of all time!

I'm interested in Horror Express. But I do have the Severin release. Will wait for the reviews/comparisons. Truth be told Severin was pretty decent. And that Audio Interview with Peter Cushing was pretty special. I see that's not part of the Arrow release.

Interesting horror express is getting an additional release in US, but no release in UK where there has never been one!

I have the Severin as well. The encoding is messed-up and full of artifacts, and it was a fairly big controversy at the time. Arrow's transfer should be vastly superior.

I never found the Severin transfer as awful in motion as most of the reviewers. But screenshots clearly illustrate the issues.

Definitely interested in The Fifth Cord and The Possessed. Love my Italian cinema/gialli. I've never seen Horror Express, but a nice Arrow remaster might be just what it takes for me to finally check it out.

I actually didn't know about that problem. First time I'm hearing/reading this.

There are some really hideous-looking screenshots demonstrating the issues:

    https://bluray.highdefdigest.com/3477/horrorexpress.html

That said, my experience VIEWING the disc was very much in line with yours. I occasionally noticed SLIGHT artifacting during scenes of rapid motion, but nothing like what the screenshots reveal. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one who found the whole thing kind of overblown. Screenshots alone can be seriously misleading. They definitely don't align 100% with the experience of watching a disc.

I just watched my Severin blu the other day yet again and had no issues with the viewing experience whatsoever. Horror Express is such a great, well above average creature film and then some, but the packaging or something would have to be exceptional for a repurchase. The Severin blu is already a great release for those who actually watch films in real time, not slowly, frame by frame. ;)
