If you think that's gigantic, you should see the size of the limited Shock and Gore version since it houses all the discs in a similar sized package to that of the Herschell Feast version inside a bigger box with the rest of the limited edition goodies. I have it sitting on the top of one of my movie shelves and it dwarfs every other boxset. Gore-geous indeed!

Got my Donnie Darko set today. Ironically it's locked to region A despite Arrow releasing the same set in the UK. I can play it as I'm region free but I was kinda hoping it'd be region free. That aside the set is stunning to look at. The inner art could have differed from the postcards but it's nice.

Yet another month with no announcement of American Horror Project Vol. 2... But The Slayer makes up for it - I've never seen it, but it's a regional independent horror movie and a Video Nasty, so it falls into two categories I find interesting. I might also upgrade Don't Torture a Duckling. I've always felt it was a bit too slow-moving for its own good, but thematically and artistically, it has some brilliant elements.
I'm surprised of all this love for Slayer(not just this website). It's not a great movie but more of a rare horror movie that you couldn't find anywhere. I thought I was the only one who cared about it. In fact only one scene is memorable in my mind. It's one of those scenes that people go what movie has that kill .... but think the kill belongs to a different film. Actually totally shocked Arrow is doing this. Slayer is more of Code Red kinda deal imho. Regardless, I'm happy & will eventually buy it.
Will be watching The Slayer as a double feature of Scalps, which is how I remember it best (rented it from a Rite Aid which tells you my age group). And probably will hold off on Shock Treatment as I already have the dvd... sometimes I wonder what might have been, had there been no strike going on during production (sigh...)
Well, Arrow UK released Satan's Blade, so it's not as if they're too good to release obscure, bad movies. I don't think The Slayer has ever had a quality release, so I have no hesitations about blind-buying, even if I don't get the instant-favourite reaction.
Two titles from this batch of announcements have my interest. I plan to pick up The Slayer and Don't Torture a Duckling. Really hoping that American Horror Project Volume 2 gets released this year!
