Expensive week with the Arrow sale, Code Red and Scorpion preorders and tomorrow's Twilight Time titles. Looks like Arrow's been doing these Flash Sales every three months -- they certainly know how to systematically part me from my money!

I just ordered a bundle (came to about $35 shipped to the US), but now I'm trying to pick my 3.

    Trying to decide between:

    The People Under The Stairs
    The Stuff
    White Of The Eye
    The 'burbs

EDIT: Ending up going with The Stuff, The 'burbs, and White Of The Eye.

You can usually check region coding on blu-ray.com. Nearly all of their earlier releases in the white slipcovers were region free (Vamp, Bay Of Blood, Obsession, Maniac Cop, Frankenhooker, to name a few). After that, they started region locking almost everything with a few exceptions. For instance, Pit Stop and Sisters are completely region free.

However, depending on your player, you can easily bypass the region locking on most Arrow blurays released after June 2013 by simply pressing top menu on your remote. I don't own a region free player, and that's how I've been watching them. However, it only works on certain brands of players. It will not work on Sony players, but it works on Pioneer, Panasonic, etc.

I'm thinking of becoming region free and was wondering if you guys could recommend some great Arrow titles that will probably never see a good U.S. release.
I'm thinking of the Texas Chainsaw 2 but don't know what the picture is like. Any thoughts guys??

Anything from the New World catalog. For instance, The Stuff or Vamp (Vamp is already region free). Also the OOP editions of Hellgate and Hell Comes To Frogtown, if you can get your hands on them. Image owns these in the US, and are pretty careless when it comes to catalog titles.

Also anything Universal will most likely be barebones here in the US, like The 'burbs, The People Under The Stairs, The Car, etc.

I bought the steel book and the first shipping option was free (with my Canadian address), while the group my items option was 3.50. I thought it might be a mistake but I choose the free option and the payment went through. If you buy more then one item it doesn't seem to give you a free option.

I was considering getting Shivers too but it's a cut version. They have a fully un-cut version in the works so I'd hold off for that.

    Some more details here:

I ordered Bound and the updated Tenebrae from the sale anyway.

    Thanks

I wrote in requesting to cancel. Hopefully it's not too late. Does the new Tenebrae have an impoved transfer over the steelbook?

Same improved transfer as the steel but also gets some new extras.

Are any of these region free? I'm not doing a region free player anytime soon.

Vamp, Obsession, Sisters, Bay Of Blood, and Pit Stop. I'm sure there are others.

What brand of bluray player do you have? A majority of them are unlockable by simply pressing TOP MENU, but it depends on your player. Works on my Pioneer, I believe Panasonic players work as well.
